I may be a thief, but I have a code, and I have to live by that code. Otherwise, what kind of life am I living?

Robin Hood, formerly known as Robin of Loxley, is one of the main characters of Once Upon a Time. A well-known thief with a heart of gold, Robin took it upon himself and his trusty Merry Men to rob from the rich and give to the poor, his code of honor having been adopted when he fell in love with a woman named Marian. She mothered his child, Roland, but disappeared mysteriously and was presumed dead. Robin was left a lonely single father for many years; that is, until he met Regina, who was fated by pixie dust to be his true love. The two formed a fast bond, but Robin's strong sense of right and wrong, as well as a few inconvenient circumstances, may wreck that bond and stop him from settling down with the former Evil Queen. Ultimately, fate brings Robin's life and existence as a whole to a bitter end, for a sacrifice made to protect the one he loves proves to be his undoing.

Before the Curse

We have a cause that's bigger than any one of our own needs, and that cause is humanity. When you steal for personal gain, the first thing you lose is yourself.
Robin EL 303
Regina's true love. ("Quite a Common Fairy")

When the unhappily married Queen Regina is approached by a fairy named Tinker Bell, said fairy offers the Queen a way to gain happiness: by using pixie dust to locate her true love. Regina is skeptical as she lost her first love, Daniel, thanks to Snow White, but Tinker Bell assures her that people can love again. The fairy steals some pixie dust from her superiors which, when a spell is performed, lead Regina to a man. Tinker Bell and Regina are led to a bar where a man with a lion tattoo on his arm is drinking with friends. The fairy tells Regina to go in, and leaves the Queen alone to do so, however, Regina doesn't go in as she's too scared to do so. She lies to Tinker Bell, saying that the man was horrible, and because Tink stole the pixie dust, she is stripped of her wings and magic thanks to Regina. It is later revealed that the man with the lion tattoo on his arm is Robin of Loxley, and by not going in and talking to him, Regina ruined both her life and his. ("Quite a Common Fairy")

Robin EL 407
Robin marries Maid Marian. ("The Snow Queen")

Robin goes on to become apart of a gang of thieves known as the Merry Men, notoriously known for stealing in order to get by. One day, the Merry Men go to a poor farm where they steal a horse, which happens to be the farmer's only source of income. Robin encounters the farmer's daughter, Maid Marian, and feels guilty for stealing the horse. He ends up giving it back, along with one of his own to make up for his and the rest of the Merry Men's actions. Robin goes on to enter into a relationship with Maid Marian, but this doesn't blow over well with the Sheriff of Nottingham, who is not only Robin's arch-nemesis, but also Marian's former boyfriend. Robin and Marian eventually decide to get married, doing so in a church with all the other Merry Man - including Little John and Friar Tuck - there to see. Because of his newfound life with the farmer's daughter, Robin decides to put his days of thievery behind him and goes into the tavern business, working to build a quiet life with the woman he loves. ("The Snow Queen"/"Heart of Gold")

Robin EL 417
Robin steals from the rich to give to the poor. ("Heart of Gold")

As Robin and Marian embrace their new life together, the Sheriff is still spiteful and threatens to close the tavern down should Robin prove unable to pay his taxes. He points out that Marian would be left alone on the streets with no one but he to comfort her, despite the fact that she tells him to his face that she will never be with him. Rumplestiltskin approaches Robin and offers him much gold in exchange for him traveling to Oz and stealing an important potion from the Wicked Witch. Robin is successful, also taking a magic bow that never misses its target, but gives the potion away to Will Scarlet instead, who needs it to get over the loss of his sister, leading him to realize that a man who steals for himself is selfish, but a man who steals for others is a hero. He decides to become an outlaw, robbing from the rich to give to the poor, and Marian decides to join him in this new life, wanting to be with him no matter what; he decides to change his name from Robin of Loxley to Robin Hood, which is more fitting for his new hoodlum lifestyle. She points out that Rumple would kill him if he ever saw him again, for he broke their deal, but Robin reveals that he stole the six-leaved clover from Oz, which allows him to change his form. ("Heart of Gold")

219 32
Robin heals a dying Marian. ("Lacey")

When Rumplestiltskin is yelling at his maid Belle for crying too loudly, he hears a noise upstairs and goes to investigate. He and Belle discover a thief, Robin (using the six-leaved clover to disguise himself), in the room attempting to steal Rumple's magic wand, to which the Dark One is very unhappy. Robin fires an arrow at Rumple from his bow, one that contains magic so that it never misses its target, however, due to Rumple's own supply of magic, he is able to pluck the arrow fired at him from out of his chest and take Robin prisoner. The Dark One spends a while painfully torturing Robin, much to the dismay of Belle, and when the wizard leaves his castle for a while, Belle sneaks down into the dungeons and gives Robin some water, before untying him so that he is able to run free. He asks her to come with him but she says that if she does that, her family will lose Rumple's protection in exchange for her servitude, and so the thief wishes her luck before fleeing the castle. Rumple grows furious at his maid for letting Robin go and even more so that the thief escaped with the magic wand, and so vows to kill him with his own bow in front of her. After gathering the information he needs from the Sheriff of Nottingham, Rumple and Belle find Robin in Sherwood Forest where the thief uses the magic wand to heal a sick Marian. As she steps out of the carriage, Rumple sees she's pregnant, and as he doesn't want to leave a child without a father, when he fires the arrow, it misses, and Robin Hood and Marian are able to ride off with one another to safety. ("Lacey") Marian eventually goes on to bear her and Robin's son, Roland. ("Quite a Common Fairy")

Robin OW103
Will Scarlet learns from Robin Hood the code of the Merry Men. ("Forget Me Not")

After he helps the Merry Men pull off a heist, Will Scarlet is accepted amongst their ranks by Robin Hood, their leader. Here, Robin teaches Will that the Merry Men are not thieves as they do not steal for themselves, they steal for others. Will suggests that they break into Maleficent's castle and steal her gold, as rumor has it it's enough to end poverty in the entire kingdom. Knowing how dangerous Maleficent is, Robin is reluctant, but he eventually agrees to do so. Will then returns home and tells his true love, Anastasia, that he's managed to fool the Merry Men into believing that he agrees with their cause, and that they'll finally get what they're looking for after the heist of Maleficent's castle. Robin and his Merry Men manage to break in and steal the gold, however, when inside, Will steals something else also. He is seen celebrating with the rest of the group when the heist is successful, however, Maleficent uses her magic to project her voice and tell them to keep the gold if they must, but to return the other item they stole, or there shall be consequences. An incredibly angered Robin Hood asks who stole something else, and a guilty Will doesn't own up. When Will tries to leave, he is approached by Robin who realizes he stole for himself in Maleficent's castle, and he is bitterly disappointed in him, telling him that he is going to do to him the worst thing of all: nothing. Will then leaves and uses what he stole - a Looking Glass - to transport he and Anastasia to Wonderland. ("Forget Me Not") Marian eventually dies because, unbeknownst to her husband, she is caught and executed by the Evil Queen. ("Snow Drifts"/"There's No Place Like Home")

After the Curse

Season 3

He spared my life once. I owe him a debt.
Robin 301
Has he had work done? ("The Heart of the Truest Believer")

It is revealed that Robin Hood has been living in Rumplestiltskin's Dark Castle ever since the Evil Queen's curse ravaged the land. He is surprised to find two trespassers - Mulan and Neal - inside his castle, and fires an arrow at them as a warning shot. Neal says that he's looking for something and Robin asks him what gives him the right to take from the castle, at which Neal explains that he's the Dark One's son. Robin, who feels he owes a debt to Rumple for sparing his life, decides to aid Neal in finding whatever it is he needs to find, and Neal soon approaches his father's old cane which has been abandoned on the floor. Robin is skeptical, not believing that the cane holds any magic, however, once Neal handles the thing, a door magically appears in the wall. Robin wonders how this is possible, and Neal explains that Rumple tuned the stick to only perform magic for him or those with his blood, such as his son. From behind the door, Neal retrieves a crystal ball and uses it to view his true love, Emma Swan. He is shocked to learn that she is not in Storybrooke, but in Neverland. ("The Heart of the Truest Believer")

Robin 303
Mulan is welcomed amongst the Merry Men. ("Quite a Common Fairy")

Robin and Mulan remain with Neal Cassidy in Rumplestiltskin's Dark Castle as he frantically looks for a portal in his father's magical possessions. He becomes angry when he's unable to find anything, and when Robin Hood's Merry Men sense disturbance, they enter the castle. Robin assures them that he's okay, and Neal is surprised to see that Robin has a young son named Roland, which gives him an idea. When Neal tells the archer that he'd like to use his son as bait for Peter Pan's shadow, Robin initially refuses, but Neal then reminds him that his father spared his life, meaning that Marian and Roland were able to survive. Due to his need to repay his debt to Rumple, thinking he can do it through Baelfire, Robin agrees to let Neal use Roland as bait under the assurance that his son remain safe. Robin, Neal and Mulan hide whilst Roland utters the phrase "I believe..." which causes the shadow to burst through the window. It attempts to take Roland but Mulan fends it off, allowing Neal to hitch a ride to Neverland and find his own son, as well as his true love. Robin takes note of Mulan's skill and offers her a position as one of his Merry Men, making her the first female member. After a disappointing conversation with Aurora, Mulan decides to join Robin Hood and the Merry Men on their travels through the Enchanted Forest. ("Quite a Common Fairy")

Before the Second Curse

He smells like forest...
Queen Regina
Robin 312
Robin Hood to the rescue. ("New York City Serenade")

When the Dark Curse is undone, those who lived in the town of Storybrooke, Maine are transported back to their home in the Enchanted Forest; a group of them begin trekking to the Evil Queen's palace, for it was untouched by the curse. Whilst on the journey, Regina and Snow White are attacked by a flying monkey, and the former fails to fend it off with her magic. Suddenly, Robin Hood appears and shoots at the creature with his bow and arrow, injuring it and scaring it off. Snow is grateful but Regina is disgusted by the thief, and his Merry Men, who hold a likewise opinion their former tyrant, having spent many years running from her Black Knights. Robin and his band join the others on their trek, and on the way, Snow points out that Robin is kind of cute, however, Regina retorts that he "smells like forest", clearly uninterested. Robin spots Neal and begins catching up with him, wondering what became of his son, and Neal reveals that he is not with his child but that Henry is safe with his mother. When they finally arrive at the palace, they are surprised to discover a protection spell has been cast around it - one that isn't Regina's - meaning someone has taken up residence inside. ("New York City Serenade")

Robin 313
Regina and Robin bond over some death threats. ("Witch Hunt")

Another flying monkey attacks the group and attempts to snatch up Roland whilst pursuing Regina, leading the Evil Queen to rescue the little boy and turn the creature into a new stuffed toy for him to play with. Robin sincerely thanks the Queen, and so secretly goes with her when she decides to trek beneath the tunnels of the Dark Palace, figuring he owes her a debt. She is annoyed when she realizes he's been following her, but allows him to come anyway, navigating him through the tunnels and telling him how to avoid her booby traps. On the way, he tells her of his deceased wife, Marian, whereas she tells him of her lost son, Henry, who she can never see again. They soon make it to the palace's crypt and Regina is shocked to find that it's already open due to the fact that she previously sealed it with blood magic; this means that the Wicked Witch of the West, who they're up against, must be immensely powerful. When they make it to one of Regina's old room, she begins mixing a dark potion, which spurs Robin to pull his bow and arrow on her. She begins strangling him with magic in retaliation, but he points out that his arrow would still leave his bow if he died, meaning he'd take her with him. Regina relinquishes and explains that she's making a sleeping curse so that she can be awoken by the only person she'd want to be awake for: her son. He tries to stop her but she freezes him to the spot, keeping her word and disarming the shield before she pricks herself with the magic needle. However, she has a run-in with the Wicked Witch and learns that she's her half-sister, telling Robin that she doesn't need to go into a sleeping curse for she took his advice and found something to live for; something she hasn't had for a very long time... someone to destroy. ("Witch Hunt")

Robin 314
Robin tells Charming of night-root. ("The Tower")

As payment for helping her break into the palace, Regina gives Robin a collection of golden-tipped arrows, much to his surprise. He later finds Prince Charming in the stables, drinking, and asks his comrade what ales him. Charming explains that his wife, Snow, is pregnant and he is scared that he won't be a good father because he was forced to abandoned his first child. Robin tells Charming that, when his wife died, Friar Tuck spoke of a root that, when ingested, rids the consumer of any and all fears. The prince wonders if it works, but Robin reveals that he never tried it, having never dabbled with magic unless he had to. He gives Charming directions to this night-root, before returning to his son, who he has decided to keep in the castle for it is the safest place with a Wicked Witch on the loose. ("The Tower")

Robin 319
Robin tags along on a quest, to the annoyance of the Queen. ("A Curious Thing")

Eight months after Snow falls pregnant, Robin Hood sits on the royal council and offers to help them break into Rumplestiltskin's castle, where the resurrected Dark One resides as the Wicked Witch's prisoner, for he knows his way around the traps that surround it. Regina is against the idea, not thinking they should be trusting a thief, but Snow disagrees, thinking that Robin will be useful and decreeing that he should tag along. The Queen is about to touch an enchanted door when Robin fires an arrow at it, revealing that it would have burned her alive. However, despite him having just saved her life from this magical booby trap, she is enraged that he almost fired an arrow into her head. He asks for thanks, but she refuses to give it. Once Rumple offers all the information he's able to give on how to defeat Zelena, the witch. Ultimately, a Dark Curse is cast over the Enchanted Forest by Snow White so that Emma Swan may be located in order to defeat Zelena with her light magic, and everyone in the land is transported to Storybrooke, Maine, Robin Hood included. However, due to Zelena's tampering, Snow does not remember what she set out to do and her memories are lost along with everyone else's. ("A Curious Thing")

After the Second Curse

Season 3

I've heard many stories about the great and terrible Evil Queen, but, from this angle, the 'Evil' moniker seems somewhat of an overstatement.
Robin SB 313
Modern-day Merry Men. ("Witch Hunt")

After the Enchanted Forest is cursed again, Robin and his Merry Men end up in the reformed town of Storybrooke, Maine, with everyone having lost a year of their lives. He is seen hunting in the woods with his men and Little John is trying to use the crossbow he stole to do so. He ends up missing the turkey he had his eye on and begins chasing it, crossing the town line in the process. When he does so, he is carried away by a flying monkey, and found later with a large bite mark on his shoulder by David and Robin. They accompany him to the local hospital, but here, Little John sprouts and tail and turns into a flying monkey himself, before smashing through the window and flying through the night sky of Storybrooke. ("Witch Hunt")

Robin 315
Robin and Regina get acquainted. ("Quiet Minds")

When Regina comes to check out the Wicked Witch's farmhouse, Robin fires an arrow at her from his crossbow, thinking she herself to be the witch. She catches the arrow in her hand, remaining unharmed, and he apologizes after realizing his mistake, suggesting that the two of them work together in order to track this witch down. Before they go, Regina asks Robin if she knows him, for he seems familiar, but he points out that he'd remember meeting the famous Evil Queen, unless perhaps it was in that pesky year no one can remember. Inside the house, Regina is searching for anything of magical origin whilst Robin begins to have doubts about the name she was assigned, not believing her to be evil at all. She assures him that the name served her well, for fear is an effective tool, and Robin grabs a bottle of something from the shelf, wondering if it's magical. Regina sees that it's whiskey and tells her new comrade that it has the ability to provide the drinker with courage, as well as act as a love potion of sorts, but that it's not magical. Realizing it's alcohol, Robin pours the two of them a drink, thinking they deserve it after the rough deal they've been dealt. He goes to hand her a glass, but when he does, she sees the lion tattoo on his arm, signifying that he's the man Tinker Bell tried to introduce her to many years ago: her true love. She leaves abruptly, and later, when Robin is spending time with his son, Roland, in the woods, she watches with sadness. ("Quiet Minds")

Robin 316
Robin keeps hold of the Queen's heart. ("It's Not Easy Being Green")

Robin attends Neal's funeral and the proceeding wake at Granny's Diner, where Tinker Bell spots his lion tattoo and realizes that he's Regina's soul mate. He then witnesses Zelena, the Wicked Witch, storm in and announce herself as Regina's half-sister, going on to challenge the Evil Queen a fight on Main Street at sundown, giving her time to learn the truth of their familial connection. Later, as Robin is searching for flying monkeys in the woods, he comes across Regina crying over a letter which she found in her mother's belongings. She allows him to read it and he sees that it's from Rumplestiltskin, telling Regina's mother that he found her first born and she is an extremely powerful sorceress. This distresses the Queen because she always thought the letter was about her, but she now realizes it's about Zelena, and if the man who taught her everything she knows about magic thinks that the Wicked Witch is more powerful than her, she doesn't stand a chance in this fight. Before she shows up that night, she requests that Robin Hood hides her heart in the woods, lest Zelena try and steal it. He stands guard as the fight takes place, and Regina emerges relatively unscathed after the witch tries and fails to take her heart, flying away on her broom afterwards. Regina then returns to the woods where Robin returns her heart, but she puts it in a leather pouch and requests that he holds on to it, trusting that it will be safe in his hands. He takes this obligation with much esteem, and as the Queen leaves, he points out that she still owes him a drink; she concedes to this. ("It's Not Easy Being Green")

Robin 318
Regina takes a risk. ("Bleeding Through")

Rumplestiltskin, under the control of the Wicked Witch, heads into the Merry Men's camp and demands to be given Regina's heart. Robin refuses, aiming his crossbow at the Dark One, but when he fires, Rumple uses his magic to redirect the arrow towards Roland, threatening to kill him if the heart isn't handed over. He assures Robin that he doesn't want to kill the boy, but he will, for he's being controlled. The Merry Men take Regina's heart from its hiding place and hand it over, meaning Roland goes unharmed and Mr. Gold leaves. Regina then shows up, wondering if her heart is safe, and Robin explains what happened, apologizing. Regina assures him that her heart is not worth the life of a child, and so forgives him, but she goes on to grieve over the fact that she's still alive. This confuses Robin, and she explains that Zelena hasn't crushed her heart, meaning she needs it for something far worse. That night, after a hectic day, Mary Margaret convinces Regina to be impulsive, and so Regina arrives in the woods and begins kissing Robin Hood passionately. He kisses her back. ("Bleeding Through")

Robin SB 319
Romance blossoms. ("A Curious Thing")

Over at Granny's Diner, Regina and Robin Hood are seen making out in the back rooms when the former asks her new boyfriend what he sees in her. He says he sees a second chance, and goes on to wonder what she feels when they kiss, since she doesn't have a heart. She informs him that she can still feel, just not fully, and that it's complicated to explain, but he assures her that he will feel enough for the both of them. They continue to kiss, but to their surprise, Henry walks in on them, casually heading back to the diner and greeting "Madame Mayor" as he does so. She appears saddened and Robin asks her if she's alright, which she replies to negatively, going on to say that Emma, Snow and Charming are waiting for her, and so she leaves. Before she does, he gives her one last passionate kiss and wishes her good luck. Later, when Henry's memories have been restored and the curse has been broken by a kiss of true love, Robin finds Regina and her son down at the docks where they are discussing the kiss he witnessed earlier that day. He then introduces himself to the lad, who finds meeting the real life Robin Hood "awesome", and Regina simply comments that the curse is broken. Remembering all that's happened over the past year, Robin points out that things were a bit rocky between them, but Regina jokingly assures him that, for some reason, he's so much more likable in Storybrooke. Laughing, he leaves with Regina and Henry. ("A Curious Thing")

Robin 320
Robin attempts to hold off Zelena. ("Kansas")

With Mary Margaret having gone into labor with her son, Robin Hood and his Merry Men are amongst those who gather at the hospital to try and secure the premises against Zelena, who wants to steal the child. However, when the Wicked Witch arrives, Robin attempts to pelt her with arrows but she merely knocks him and his fellow thieves to the ground effortlessly with her magic. Once she's taken Snow White's newborn son and with Emma Swan's magic having been earlier drained, it is unknown how Zelena will be stopped from casting her time travel spell, and Henry suggests that Regina use her own light magic, which she obviously possesses if she was able to issue a kiss of true love in order to break the curse. Robin Hood agrees, and he, Regina, Emma, Hook and David head to the barn where the witch has already begun her spell. They do battle with Rumplestiltskin, who's still under Zelena's control, but Regina is ultimately able to summon enough light magic to defeat her sister, taking the pendant which houses her magic - making her utterly powerless - and freeing Rumple from her influence. Zelena's lack of magic means all her flying monkeys are returned to their human forms, including Little John; Snow White reunites with her baby, and all is right with the world... until Zelena dies at the hands of Rumplestiltskin and the magic from her pendant spills across town and causes her time travel spell to enact. ("Kansas")

Robin 321
Robin and Regina continue to get to know one another over the matter of lost loves. ("Snow Drifts")

At Regina's house, she and Robin are enjoying an indoor picnic and toast to the fact that the former has her heart back. In between kisses, he asks her how it feels, and she tells him that it's stronger than ever. She goes on to comment that she never thought she'd have what she now has with her boyfriend, which leads the two of them onto the topic of lost loves. Robin admits that he never thought he'd find love again after his wife, Marian, died, but Regina has ended his old pessimistic point of view. She says that that's how she felt when her first love, Daniel, was sadly taken from her, but Tinker Bell told her that she could find love again; she used pixie dust to track down her supposed soul mate, but she was too scared to approach him... however, she did see his lion tattoo. Robin realizes that she's talking about him and suggests that now is simply their time to be together, as opposed to back then. They then attend the coronation at Granny's Diner together in order to hear the announcement of Snow and Charming's newborn son's name, but everyone is soon distracted by the opening of Zelena's time portal, which Emma and Hook accidentally fall in. ("Snow Drifts")

Robin 322
Robin is reunited with his supposedly deceased wife, much to the Queen's dismay. ("There's No Place Like Home")

Having ended up in the Enchanted Forest of the past, Emma is arrested by the Evil Queen and locked away in the dungeons along with Marian, Robin Hood's wife, who's there because she refused to reveal the location of Snow White. Emma appears happy to hear that the prisoners are only remaining in cells for one more day, but less happy to hear that it's because everyone's to be executed on the morrow. However, the blonde manages to use the thievery skills she learned from Neal Cassidy to pick the lock and escape and takes Marian with her. Knowing that the fair maid was meant to die in the original timeline, Emma knocks her out and decides to take her back to the future with her, to avoid messing up the past. Marian comes to when she arrives in the present day, and as she's caught up to speed by Hook, Robin happily heads back to Granny's Diner along with Regina and Roland. The couple shares a tender kiss before entering, but Marian is inside, and she soon spots her husband and son. Having thought she was gone forever, Robin is overjoyed to be reunited with his wife, but Regina is devastated, angry with Emma for having completely wrecked her new relationship. ("There's No Place Like Home")

Season 4

If you find someone you love enough to ruin your entire life for, it's always worth it.
Will Scarlet
Robin 401
Robin ends things with Regina. ("A Tale of Two Sisters")

Following Marian's return, Regina storms out, angry, and Robin tries chasing after her with his formerly deceased wife in tow, trying at the same time to convince her that Regina really isn't the Evil Queen anymore. Marian refuses to believe this, insisting that Regina is a monster, and the Mayor leaves all the same. The next day, Robin goes to see her and he tells her that he loves her, and that the woman he's known is anything but a monster; he adds that he can relate, because he used to be quite a different man himself... but he made a vow to be with Marian until death do they part, and he has to do right by that vow because - despite being a thief - he has a code, and if he didn't abide by that code then he'd question what kind of a life he was living. He tearfully says goodbye to his true love and returns to his wife, son and Merry Men in the woods. A giant snow monster soon attacks, chased by the Charmings, and knocks out everyone but Marian. When it looks like she's about to die, Regina steps in and melts the creature, saving the life of the woman who ruined hers. Marian is thus able to come to terms with the fact that maybe Regina isn't a monster as she thought, but the Mayor disappears via magic before anyone can talk to her. ("A Tale of Two Sisters")

Robin 403
Robin's kiss is lacking. ("Rocky Road")

Robin, Marian and Roland are out for a stroll when the latter decides he wants an ice cream, goading his mother into buying him one by telling her that Regina used to let him have it. Having never eaten ice cream before, Marian decides to try some, but the ice cream vendor - who's actually the Snow Queen - curses it and causes the amid to fall into a deep sleep during the fireside chat with the Mayor. It is explained that ice is slowly making its way to her heart (and when it finally reaches it, she will die) but that acts of true love are able to thaw such magic as this. Robin then kisses his wife, but she doesn't wake up. Regina reveals that she might be able to stall the process with drastic measures. As they wait for Henry to retrieve a chest from Regina's vault, Robin admits to her that the reason his true love's kiss didn't work is because he's in love with someone else... Regina. Henry soon arrives and Regina rips out Marian's heart and places it in the chest, meaning that the ice is unable to reach it and they have time to find a cure for her affliction. ("Rocky Road")

Robin 406
Robin is told to stick with his wife. ("Family Business")

Emma and the others have the idea to search the Snow Queen's ice cream truck in order to discover what it is she's hiding, Robin Hood and his Merry Men discover it near their camp in the woods and lead everyone there. As they do, Robin and Regina become sidetracked with one another, and she reveals that she's had absolutely no luck in thawing out Marian; she's read every spell book she owns, tested every potion in her vault and even tried to track the Snow Queen down in order to get her to reverse her magic, but nothing works. Robin has faith in Regina and believes that she will find a way, but Regina tells her true love that he has to lose that faith and give up on her, adding that he should keep his distance and try to fall in love with his wife again so that he'll be able to wake her up with true love's kiss. Still in love with her, Robin is saddened to hear her say this. ("Family Business")

Robin 407
To hell with morality. ("The Snow Queen")

Robin visits Regina in her vault, thus prompting her to remind him that she told him to stay away from her so that he could fall back in love with Marian and revive her with true love's kiss, but Robin feels unable to do so, being in love with Regina and not thinking himself able to love Marian again, as well as not knowing what to do in general. Regina convinces him to leave and he's next seen drunkenly playing darts over at Granny's Diner when Will Scarlet walks in, not going unnoticed by his former leader. After being berated for nearly having gotten Robin and all the other Merry Men killed, Will is asked if he's ever heard the story of how Robin and Marian met. Will has heard said story, and several times, but that doesn't stop Robin from telling it anyway, going on to recount how he stole her family's horse back when he was a hapless thief but felt so bad about it that he ended up giving them two of his own and, from that day forward, he became a man with a code who only robbed from the rich to give to the poor. Will goes on to recall a talk he once had with Marian about how she was adjusting to life as an outlaw, which she didn't particularly like, but she found it easy because she was with her true love and knew she had to stay with him because she saw goodness in him that he didn't see in himself. After a brief discussion bout such love and what it means, Robin feels somehow convinced to abandon his moral code and pursue Regina, who he again visits down in her vault and begins kissing passionately. ("The Snow Queen")

Robin 408
Robin finds a new page of the book. ("Smash the Mirror")

Robin wakes up, having slept with Regina, and she goes on to explain how she feels locked into the role of a villain due to Henry's storybook, and thus believes that a happy ending is beyond her. Later, at Granny's Diner, Will is pouring copious amounts of alcohol into his coffee cup when Robin enters and sits opposite, taking away the cup which his former Merry Man claims to be his breakfast, lunch and dinner. Robin explains that he needs Will sober if he is to perform the task needed, presenting him with the storybook which he stole from Regina, proclaiming that she needs their help in finding out its origin. Will explains that the center of magic in Storybrooke seems to be its clock tower, underneath which is a library, so that is the logical place to start. However, Will refuses to leave without his breakfast, lunch and dinner, and so Robin hands him back his alcoholic mug before the two of them set off on their mission. Will tries breaking into the library the same way he did before, until Robin simply pushes the door open, pointing out that they haven't reached closing hours yet. The two men search for anything that might clue them in on the storybook, but find nothing. That is until Robin discovers a page in his satchel that wasn't originally there which partially rectifies his situation, depicting what would have happened if he and Regina had met earlier when they were set up by Tinker Bell. This page fits exactly with the one in the book where Regina leaves the tavern, and Robin calls Regina over to show her this and consequently makes her feel better about her no-longer-seemingly locked destiny. ("Smash the Mirror")

Robin 409
Robin is told to fear his true love. ("Fall")

Robin is teaching his son about arrows when Regina shows up at the Merry Men's camp in order to warn her true love that the Snow Queen's spell of Shattered Sight has been cast, which will make it so that everyone in Storybrooke turns against one another come sundown. She advises he and his men to stay well away from each other and their weapons, in case a bloodbath ensues, and Robin has Will Scarlet take Roland away and hide him somewhere in secret along with the frozen body of Marian. Regina savors the look of love in Robin's eyes, knowing that this spell will revert her to the Evil Queen she once was and fearing that he'll look at her the same way everybody else does - with hatred. They share a kiss before eventually parting ways and, after Regina seals Henry safely within her office, she is met by Robin just moments before the spell is about to rain down on them all. He tells her that he'll go and chain himself to a tree in a minute, unless she'd like him to go with her, but she refuses, saying that she needs to lock herself inside her vault and get as far away from anyone else as possible, for their safety. Robin says that he isn't afraid of her, but she says that he really should be, before leaving. The spell is soon complete, and the darkest side of all those in town surfaces as a result. ("Fall")

Robin 411
And then he's forced to bid her goodbye. ("Heroes and Villains")

Following Ingrid's sacrifice, which caused the spell of Shattered Sight to break, Elsa is finally able to use her powers to take down the ice wall surrounding Storybrooke; however, some of the Snow Queen's magic remains, and her desire to protect the town from intruders has made it so that anyone who leaves cannot return. But her death has also caused Marian to unfreeze, and so Regina places the maid's heart back in her chest and she revives, happy to be reunited with her husband. She later approaches Regina and thanks her for saving her life, offering to step out of the way and allow her to be with Robin, for she doesn't want him to be with her merely out of obligation. Robin makes clear that he chooses Regina, but it soon becomes apparent that some remnant of the Snow Queen's curse still exists within Marian, and she collapses to the ground and starts to freeze. Regina realizes that the only way to save her is the put her across the town line into a world without magic, but she'll need someone to go with her since returning is not an option. Marian leaves with Roland whilst Robin shares a tearful goodbye with Regina. He gives her one final kiss before stepping over the town line and leaving forever. ("Heroes and Villains")

Robin 417
Robin decides to be happy with "Marian". ("Heart of Gold")

Robin heads to New York with Marian and Roland, intending to move into Neal Cassidy's apartment which Regina has given them the keys to. However, a common thief steals Marian's purse, and Robin chases him on horseback, eventually catching up and berating him for having no honor. When he and his family arrive at their new apartment, Mr. Gold turns up too, shocked to see people in his son's home. He has a sudden heart attack before he can kick them out, and Robin has him taken to hospital, where the Dark One realizes that all of his misdeeds have caused his heart to become poisoned. He employs Robin to steal Zelena's elixir of wounded hearts from Walsh's furniture shop, and he does so, for leaving a man to die goes against his moral code. He is successful in liberating it and gives it to Rumple; however, it doesn't work, but Marian switched the vials, soon revealing after Robin has left that she's Zelena in disguise. She followed Emma and Hook through the time portal, killed Marian when she was left unintended, and used the six-leaved clover of Oz to assume her form, having been playing everyone ever sine in order to dig at Regina's happiness. She wants Rumple to find the Author for her so that she can get a happy ending, and in exchange she will give him the elixir. Gold convinces Robin to stay with Marian, and the thief becomes reminded of why he loved her to begin with, deciding that she can still be his happy ending. He remains unaware that she's Regina's wicked sister in disguise. ("Heart of Gold")

Robin 415
Robin and Regina are attacked in the latter's dream. ("Poor Unfortunate Soul")

While infiltrating the Queens of Darkness and pretending to aid in their plans, Regina dozes off and begins to have a dream. In the dream, she is strolling through town when she hears Robin calling out to her, and then he comes running from the distance and the two of them embrace immediately and happily, reunited at last. She asks how and why he's there, but he points out that it doesn't matter, for all that matters is that the two of them are together. As they kiss, Regina suddenly realizes that somebody is watching them, and then she turns around to see the Evil Queen approaching with a fireball in her hand. He tells Regina to stay away from Robin, and launches the fireball at them both. Later, when Regina is telling Emma about this dream - after having asked the blonde to retrieve for her some contact information so that she and Robin may communicate - , she explains how she doesn't think the Evil Queen wanted to hurt Robin... she wanted to protect him. However, she has no idea yet just what she was trying to protect him from. ("Poor Unfortunate Soul")

Robin 419
Robin learns the truth about "Marian". ("Lily")

Regina leaves Storybrooke with Emma Swan in order to both find Maleficent's daughter Lily and rescue Robin from Zelena in New York. After the former task is accomplished, the now-trio of ladies make it to Baelfire's old apartment, where Regina explains to an extremely confused Robin Hood that his wife, Marian, is actually her sister, the Wicked Witch, using magic to fool him as a means of revenge. He doesn't believe her, and is even more reluctant to accept the truth when Marian herself returns home, appearing very frightened. However, Zelena decides she's had enough fun and soon decides to drop her glamour, much to Robin's shock. Regina tells him to grab Roland and come back to Storybrooke with her, but he still refuses. She wonders why, and he awkwardly reveals to her that Zelena is pregnant with his child. ("Lily")

Robin 420
An awkward situation is hashed out. ("Mother")

Robin and Regina discuss the highly unusual situation regarding Zelena's pregnancy before heading back to Storybrooke along with she, Emma, Lily and Roland. Zelena is locked up in a cell beneath the hospital with a cuff around her wrist that blocks her magic, although the Wicked Witch still gloats about now being a part of Robin's life forever. Later, after having taken the Author for herself and empowered his magic ink with Lily's blood, Regina heads back to her sister's cell and threatens to write her out of the existence, as well as everyone's memories. Zelena is fearful, but Regina ultimately decides against it. Robin soon enters, having been worried and looking everywhere for the Mayor, while she comes to the conclusion that she doesn't need a happy ending written for her - she has everything she needs right now. Zelena mocks yet another woman acquainting happiness with the love of a man, but Regina assures her that Robin isn't her happy ending: finally feeling at home in the world is... Robin's just a part of that world. Irritated at not being able to write anything new, the Author returns to Mr. Gold and starts writing for him instead. ("Mother")

Robin 421
Robin's new true love. ("Operation Mongoose, Part 1")

With the Author now in possession the enchanted ink he needs to rewrite everyone's story, Robin and the others head to the Sorcerer's mansion to see if any of his books are being filled out. August soon turns up and tells them of the Apprentice, who Hook knows is trapped in the hat, and the Blue Fairy frees him. He says that Isaac must be trapped inside the page, and the Charmings take Henry home so that he can retrieve it. However, it's too late: a new story is written, and the entirety of Storybrooke's residents are trapped inside. Robin Hood remains a notorious thief and the leader of the Merry Men, which comes much to the bane of the bandit Regina, whose robberies are constantly nullified by his own. When she's about to be torched by Snow White, the Evil Queen, Robin rides by and saves her, taking her to a tavern where they go on to bond. He suggests that she take over his role as leader, for her reputation precedes her, before revealing that he's leaving to get married - to Zelena. Regina, having really taken a fancy to Robin Hood, is heavily disheartened to hear this. She leaves as fast as she can, declining Zelena's invitation to the wedding and watching as her unbeknownst half-sister kisses Robin. ("Operation Mongoose, Part 1")

Robin 422
Robin's true true love. ("Operation Mongoose, Part 2")

Henry, who's trapped in the new book, knows that its narrative shall end and its events become solidified when bells ring at sunset. He deduces that this means the wedding bells of Robin and Zelena, making it imperative that Regina stops the ceremony. When they arrive to do so, Rumplestiltskin the Light One shows up to stop them. Regina contemplates going inside the church, and Robin sees her from the altar, but then Henry becomes endangered and she rushes in to save him, having her midsection cut open by Rumple. He teleports away, and Robin exits the church along with his new wife, shocked to find Regina injured. Zelena becomes jealous of Regina having stolen focus from her and runs away, turning green, while Robin stays with his dying true love. The mantle of the Author is passed on to Henry, and he uses Regina's blood to write everybody back home to Storybrooke. Regina is healed and reunites with Robin Hood, making sure that Zelena is still locked up and pregnant as ever. Celebrations are had at Granny's Diner and, with Will watching Roland, Robin offers Regina a stroll in the moonlight. She goes with him, and they happen upon the Charmings searching for the darkness that has escaped Gold's heart. It swarms Regina in an attempt to tether itself to her, but Emma steps in, using the dagger to become the new Dark One. ("Operation Mongoose, Part 2")

Season 5

Hello sis, I see you've fixed the clock; it'd be a shame to break it again. Although, it might be fun to see Robin fly like one of his arrows.
Robin 501
Robin is held hostage, not that anyone cares. ("The Dark Swan")

It is deduced that Emma is in another world since the Dark One's dagger is unable to summon her; as such, Robin and the others go to the Sorcerer's Apprentice to see if he can help them find her. Before dying, he passes on his wand, which can only be wielded by someone dark so as to balance out the light magic already inside it. Regina, being too good, is unable, and Hook realizes that Zelena is the only one capable. He, Regina and Robin visit her in her cell but Regina refuses to remove the cuff that blocks her magic, leading Hook to sneak back in later and free her inadvertently, making it so that she walks free amidst Storybrooke with her magic intact. She disguises herself as Regina, but when Robin kisses her he immediately knows it's her, and she reveals herself. She then takes him hostage and holds him ransom, wanting the Apprentice's wand in exchange for his life. The wand is traded and Robin is safe, but Regina manipulates the pending cyclone to send them to where Emma is instead of Oz, like Zelena intended, and manages to get the cuff back on her half-sister's wrist. Everyone files into Granny's Diner and the entire building is swept away to the Enchanted Forest, where Emma is found and stopped, for she is about to kill Merida and ultimately doesn't. Robin and the others are then approached by King Arthur and his knights, who welcome them all into Camelot after having heard a prophecy regarding their arrival. ("The Dark Swan")

Before the Third Curse

I can use that dagger to make you do this, but I'm not. I'm asking you. I've lost love before, and I won't again. Please. Save him.
Queen Regina
Robin 502
Robin is healed by the dark savior. ("The Price")

Robin and the others are welcomed into Camelot, where King Arthur announces that there is to be a ball held in honor of their arrival. They assume that the quest to find Merlin is to begin soon as well, but Arthur soon reveals that Merlin isn't lost - he's trapped within a magical tree, and only the prophesied savior can save him. Regina steps out and pretends to be said savior so that Emma won't be forced to use dark magic, and later, while perusing the tree with Robin, she is approached by Sir Percival and given a special necklace. That night, Regina learns to dance thanks to Charming, and Robin assures that he can't wait to share a dance with her. Fun is had at the ball, until Percival takes Regina for a dance and tries killing her due to a personal vendetta, with the necklace he gave her having acted as a magical spy device so that he could prove she was in fact the Evil Queen. Robin steps in to protect his true love but is stabbed by Percival's enchanted sword. Charming then steps in and kills the rogue knight, while Robin is rushed away. Thanks to the sword's spell, Regina cannot heal the wound, and she begs Emma to do it. Eventually, she uses her dark magic to keep the thief alive, setting her on a dangerous path. ("The Price")

503 10
Robin offers to fetch Regina some tea. ("Siege Perilous")

Up in Merlin's tower, Regina is stressing due to the fact that she's running out of ideas as to how to get the Sorcerer out of the tree he's currently trapped in. Robin assures her that it's okay and that she'll get it in the end, which Regina seems doubtful of. He suggests that it's time for a spot of tea, explaining that it calms the nerves and allows for clear thoughts, and Regina agrees to let him get one for her. He kisses her before leaving, and the mute Zelena rolls her eyes. She and Regina proceed to have an argument where Regina promises to make sure that her sister's baby is healthy, safe and loved... a promise that does not extend to Zelena herself. Later, after David has shown a particular amount of valor on his quest with King Arthur, Robin is one of many to witness his knighthood into the Knights of the Round Table. He claps for him as his coat of arms is bared upon the siege perilous - a seat reserved only for he with the purest of hearts. ("Siege Perilous")

Robin 504
Robin is most assuredly there. ("The Broken Kingdom")

After Lancelot warns Snow that Arthur is evil, the latter tells Charming about Excalibur being incomplete, and that its other half is the Dark One's dagger. Charming wants to give the dagger to Arthur, but Snow refuses, and ultimately they pull the wool over the King's eyes to see whether or not Lancelot's warning was correct. In waiting for them to return, Regina starts pacing, and Robin warns her that she's going to wear out the masonry if she continues, assuring that David and Mary Margaret are fine. Regina says she's not worried about them because they could "outlive a cockroach"; she's just anxious to know how their test went because she gets antsy when she doesn't know who she should hate. Despite Arthur being veritably villainous, magic is used to mold Snow and Charming into believing otherwise, and they return to Regina and Robin saying that the dagger should be handed over to Camelot's not-so-faithful leader. Robin asks about Lancelot and Charming says that's locked safely in the dungeon, which is true, and adds that he lied, which isn't. ("The Broken Kingdom")

Robin 505
Still there. Being entirely relevant. ("Dreamcatcher")

Through an enchanted dreamcatcher, Emma learns that Merlin was trapped in the tree using his own tear, which was shed due to the heartbreak associated with first love. Regina suggests counteracting this with another, similar tear, and so a dreamcatcher is used to force her to relive the memory of her first love Daniel being murdered. Her tear is captured, but it doesn't work due to the fact that she's moved on with Robin, meaning her heartbreak isn't fresh enough. However, after Henry's date with Violet goes awry, they are able to use his tear and are successful in freeing Merlin. Robin and the others rendezvous at Granny's Diner where the Sorcerer removes a spell put on Mary Margaret and David by the villainous Arthur and Guinevere. They wonder if he'll be able to remove the darkness from Emma, but he says that he will only be able to do so if she's ready for him to remove it, and she hesitates when he asks whether or not she is. ("Dreamcatcher")

Robin 507
Robin protects his unborn child, at a cost. ("Nimue")

When pressed, Merlin says that he will be able to remove the darkness from Emma using a reformed Excalibur. He will need a certain magical flame in order to repair it, but even that would be useless unless he gets the sword itself, and so he tasks Robin and the others with stealing it from Arthur while he and Emma quest for the aforementioned flame. It is discussed how to best go about breaking into Arthur's castle, and Zelena makes her feelings known, pointing out that any of their suggestions would either end in their death, imprisonment or just general failure. She reveals that while she was skulking around the castle, pretending to be Regina's mute handmaiden, she was actually plotting an escape; she offers to show them a secret way into the castle that she discovered in exchange for her anti-magic cuff being removed, and Robin and the others allow her to lead them there. They refuse to remove the cuff until they return victorious, and Regina asks Mary Margaret to keep watch on the Wicked Witch. However, Snow falls victim to Zelena's scheme and is knocked out and tied up by the witch, who walks her into Arthur's throne room after the others have successfully intruded it. She reveals that she's allied herself with Arthur, who's removed her cuff, and uses her magic to make the broken Excalibur able to control Merlin. The Sorcerer is summoned and Arthur uses his new power over him to force him to get rid of Robin and the others with his magic. ("Nimue")

Robin 508
Robin is held hostage, if you can see that far. ("Birth")

Robin and the others find themselves all bound to trees, waiting for Emma to pay the ransom for their release which consists of the Dark One's dagger and the Promethean spark so that it can be reunited with Excalibur. However, she decides to trick their captors by handing Zelena a fake spark which causes her to be tied to a tree as well, at which Arthur orders Merlin to kill Mary Margaret in penance for Emma's betrayal. The Sorcerer uses his magic to summon a branch which wraps itself around Mary Margaret's neck, getting tighter and tighter and strangling the life out of her. Emma begs Merlin to fight Arthur's control, for if he, the most powerful magician who ever lived, can't fight the darkness... then no one can. Merlin resists as much as he's able and finally the branch relinquishes Mary Margaret's throat, allowing Hook enough time to wriggle free of his binds and hit Arthur across the face, receiving a cut from Excalibur in the process but managing to retrieve it too. Eventually Emma's able to light the Promethean flame and begins to reunite Excalibur; however, Hook's neck wound from the sword which Emma initially healed suddenly reopens, because a cut from Excalibur is never truly gone. He is dying, and so Emma halts the sword's reparation and uses it to transfer Merlin's powers into Hook, saving him but turning her fully dark in the process. Hook also becomes a Dark One. ("Birth")

Roland 510
Emma takes everyone's memories of the last six weeks. ("Broken Heart")

Hook rises from the Vault of the Dark One, having now gone through the full transformation from the man he once was into a second Dark One. With the voice of Rumplestiltskin now in his head, guiding him to the darkness, he soon reunites with Emma who tries her best to keep him near the light long enough for Merlin to cure them both. However, Hook loses all trust for her when she withholds Excalibur from him, thus driving him to full-on embracing his dark side, leading him to plot recasting the Dark Curse so he can get back to Rumple and finally have his revenge. He has Excalibur implanted back into stone, and with Nimue living on inside of him, he is able to crush Merlin's heart to enact the curse. However, Emma is able to wipe his memory of all that has happened, and before the curse is fully cast she is able to make everyone else who journeyed to Camelot appear unconscious in the diner, Robin included, and uses dreamcatchers to wipe all of their memories too. From there, they are all sent back to Storybrooke. ("Broken Heart")

After the Third Curse

Season 5

Regina... I have a daughter.
Belle 501 02
The heroes return from Camelot, and Dark Swan terrorizes them. ("The Dark Swan")

After spending a total of six weeks away in Camelot, Robin and the others sent to said realm in Granny's Diner are abruptly returned to Storybrooke. The dwarf, Sneezy, who has been working as town sheriff (even wearing Emma's signature red leather jacket), and Sleepy overhear the diner's crash, and go to check out what has happened. They're shocked to discover everyone has returned, but Robin and the others have zero memory of anything that has happened since entering into Camelot. The two dwarfs reveal they've all been gone a total of six weeks, and Emma soon makes herself known, appearing to be responsible for their return, as well as everyone's loss of memories. She is now dressed in the attire of which a Dark One would, and reveals to Robin and the others that they've failed to remove the darkness from her, and now they must all pay. When questioned why, Emma simply states that it's because she is the Dark One. ("The Dark Swan")

Robin SB 502
Robin is rescued by the new savior. ("The Price")

After King Arthur and his knights turn out to be in Storybrooke along with everyone else, Robin alerts Regina to the plethora of Camelot citizens now living in the woods, whom he helps set up camp. Thanks to Emma's warning, Regina fears a problem is coming to Storybrooke - with Robin assuring her that everyone believes she can be a savior and no longer sees her as the Evil Queen - and her fears come true when a Fury kidnaps Robin, knocking him out and flying away with him. She tries fighting it but is injured in the ensuing struggle, with Mary Margaret forcing her to leave to go and get herself checked out. Regina soon learns that the point of the Fury is to pay the unpaid price of magic, but only when that price is a life, meaning it wants to bring Robin to the underworld. To stop it, Regina will have to sacrifice her own life, and so she prepares to do exactly that. As the Fury latches onto her with its magic, however, Mary Margaret takes her hand, and then David, and Leroy and Arthur, and the demon is defeated. It is agreed that Regina really is this town's new savior, which she proves further by turning Sneezy back from the stone statue Emma made him into, and Robin is safe. ("The Price")

Robin 503
Robin experiences some mixed emotions when staring up inside Zelena. ("Siege Perilous")

At Granny's Diner, Robin is staring at a picture of Zelena's first sonogram, amazed at the technology of this world while at the same time experiencing a range of mixed emotions regarding the baby itself, as is pointed out by Hook when he approaches. Robin knows that it's painful for Regina to have her evil sister carrying his child, and it's painful for him too, and yet a part of him can't help but feel happy - he doesn't want Regina to know that though, and misconstrue his happiness, at which Hook points out further the complexity of Robin's situation. He goes on to lament about his own complex love life and recalls a locked door in Emma's new home that she didn't want him going anywhere near. When he meets with her, he tries finding out what's behind it, but she refuses to say. As such, Hook returns to Granny's where Robin is eating. He explains that he was unable to get any information from Emma and needs to find out what she's keeping from him - he needs a thief to break into the locked room. Robin assures that his thieving days are behind him, at which Hook says that, being a pirate who tells himself the same thing, those days are behind you. Robin contemplates helping him. ("Siege Perilous")

Robin SB 505
Excalibur is discovered. ("Dreamcatcher")

With Grif, the man David arrested for having stolen from King Arthur, missing from his cell, it is deduced that he stole a magic bean and transported himself back to Camelot - when in actuality, Arthur made him kill himself with a poison that makes one's body disappear, so as to cover for his evil plot. Guinevere comments on Grif's selfishness, but blames his desperation on the hopelessness caused from being a way from home, and in order to raise morale, Mary Margaret and the others decide to host a block party. Meanwhile, Belle runs into Robin, Hook and Regina as they're leaving the sheriff's station and tells them that Mr. Gold is missing. They deduce that Emma kidnapped him and break into her house while she's off with Henry, finding their way into her secret room and discovering that she's hiding Excalibur down there - and that it's the same blade as the Dark One's dagger. That night, as the block party goes on, the others approach Arthur and learn that, when the sword is complete, it has the ability to snuff out all dark magic... but in the wrong hands, it can snuff out all the light, which is Emma's ultimate endgame plan. Robin and Regina, meanwhile, investigate a dreamcatcher left out by Emma and discover that it houses the memories of Henry's crush Violet (with dreamcatchers being how she stored everyone's missing memories); they see through it that Emma ripped out her heart during the missing six weeks, to the heartbreak of her son. ("Dreamcatcher")

Robin SB 508
Robin holds his baby girl in his arms. ("Birth")

Robin provides backup alongside Hook as David heads into Arthur's tent in the woods in order to confront him about his recently exposed betrayal. This leads to Arthur running away and getting himself captured in the process, and Hook, who was saved from the corrupt King by Emma, reports back that she now has the complete Excalibur. Regina realizes that she's waiting on some sort of missing ingredient for her spell to snuff out all light magic, but she has little time to search due to Zelena's pregnancy suddenly speeding up by seven months. To her and Robin's shock and horror, the Wicked Witch goes into labor, and everyone rallies to protect her when Mary Margaret and Belle figure out via research that the missing ingredient for Emma's spell is the cry of a newborn baby. Robin refuses to let her anywhere near his child so long as he's alive, and it's not long before Dr. Whale delivers a healthy baby girl. Robin holds her in his arms joyously, but then the Dark Swan arrives. With his baby in one arm and a sword in the other, Robin threatens her, but she soon reveals that she's not after Zelena's baby; she's after Zelena herself, wanting to use her as a vessel for the darkness so that she can destroy all dark magic, not light. She is unsuccessful, however. ("Birth")

Robin 510
Robin allows Zelena some time with their daughter. ("Broken Heart")

Zelena places her cuff, which was removed by Hook after they were both taken hostage, onto Emma's wrist, allowing for she and the pirate to escape, the latter of which having just found out that he became a second Dark One in Camelot. Regina and the others then learn that Emma has only been acting the way she has in an attempt to save herself and Hook from the darkness, and she thought isolating herself would be the best way to go about doing what needed to be done, meaning killing Zelena. The Wicked Witch, meanwhile, heads to the hospital in order to see her daughter; however, Baby Hood has already been taken by Robin, and Regina implores her sister to follow her back to Mary Margaret's apartment. Robin is waiting inside with his daughter in his arms, and Regina explains that the only reason she was able to redeem was because of the love she had for Henry, so she hopes Zelena's love for her daughter will be equally as strong and accomplish the same for her. Zelena immediately falls in love with her daughter when Robin passes her over, but he explains that she may only see her when either he or Regina is present. Robin later regains his memories of the missing six weeks spent in Camelot when Emma recovers her missing dreamcatchers and unleashes their contents, allowing her to realize that Hook plans on opening a portal to hell and bringing every past Dark One to Storybrooke. He succeeds. ("Broken Heart")

Robin 511
Custody battle's a bitch. ("Swan Song")

Emma decides that she has to put a stop to Hook... permanently. However, as she and the others split up to search for the now villainous pirate, each of them is marked by one of the resurrected Dark Ones, and Gold, marked himself, explains that they are to be dragged to the Underworld so that the Dark Ones may return properly to the land of the living. With Zelena planning to take full custody of her daughter once Robin and Regina are dead, she heads to the latter's Mayoral office, planning to take over the town while teaching her baby how to be wicked. Regina refuses to let this happen and uses the Apprentice's wand to summon a cyclone that sends the Wicked Witch back to Oz, then able to deal with the primary problem at hand. She and Robin are later transported to the town pond by their marks, with Roland and the baby having been left in the fairies' care, but they're ultimately spared their horrible fates because Hook absorbs the darkness and Emma stabs him with Excalibur, killing both him and it for good. However, as it turns out, Gold made it so that the darkness in fact went back into him. Not wanting Killian's sacrifice to be in vain, Emma heads to the Underworld by choice to save him, and Robin is amongst those who tag along. ("Swan Song")

512 14
Robin is in the Underworld. Not much more to say. ("Souls of the Departed")

Robin and the others arrive in the Underworld and are surprised to discover that it's a demented version of Storybrooke. They all split up in order to go search for Hook, and as they walk down the sidewalk Regina and Robin discuss their whereabouts. Robin comments how everything is the same and yet... off, while Regina theorizes that this is the place where whoever created the Dark Curse got their ideas. Robin points out that it could be the other way around, but they are soon interrupted by a pedestrian who's been following them. He leads Regina to her mother, who tells her to take Robin and Henry and leave. Regina cannot do this, needing to help her friends find Hook, who they learn from pouring the Ale of Sinead on his grave is in a much worse place. Cora threatens to send Prince Henry, Regina's father, to the same place, but he ends up ascending Mount Olympus instead. Robin is happy that all's well, and he and the others decide to help the other lost souls he deserve to be free of this nightmarish place as well. ("Souls of the Departed")

Robin 513
Robin helps break into Regina's office in the Underworld. ("Labor of Love")

The heroes have trouble locating Hook's prison and Regina recalls that, in the real Storybrooke, she had a series of maps chronicling the entirety of the town. She assumes that the Underworld has its own analogue and it is decided that Robin will be the one to break into the mayoral office and steal them. Henry tags along, but unfortunately Cora left the place very well locked up. However, Robin spots a vent on the wall and removes the panel. He wants to go through it himself but Henry stops him, pointing out that someone has to stay and keep guard and he's the only one who'll know where to actually look in his mom's office. Robin concedes, letting the kid go, and waits for a long while. When Henry returns, he claims not to have found anything, when in actuality he had a lengthy encounter with the deceased Cruella De Vil regarding him being the Author and the magic quill he snapped, which is now in the Underworld somewhere. ("Labor of Love")

Robin 514
The girls' names appear on headstones. ("Devil's Due")

After the apartment is cleaned up from Cerberus' attack, Gold comes to Robin and the other heroes with a plan, soon taking Emma and using his dead wife Milah to cross the threshold into Hades' lair, which allows them to rescue Hook. After an escapade involving Daniel's grave and Regina regaining her magic, Snow and the former Evil Queen regroup with Robin and the others - including Hook. They want to get the heart-splitting process done and dusted, but Emma's heart cannot be removed for some reason. They then learn that that reason is that Emma's name has been carved onto one of the graveyard's headstones... along with Snow's and Regina's. Hades wanted Hook to pick which of his friends would have to stay behind in exchange for the souls that they helped to move on, but it seems he's done the picking himself. This means that Emma's heart won't work to resurrect Hook, and that she, her mother and step-grandmother are trapped in purgatory until further notice. ("Devil's Due")

Robin 516
Robin defends his inexcusable actions. ("Our Decay")

Robin's daughter is brought to the Underworld via a portal created by Gold and Hades, but they accidentally bring Belle and Zelena with her - and the latter wants her baby back. She goes to Robin and the others after Belle runs off with Baby Hood, and Robin decides that he'll be the one to track her down since Zelena has no magic and Regina can't do a locator spell without something of the child's. Whilst tracking, Zelena asks what the baby's name is but Robin says that he hasn't given her one yet because he doesn't know her; he's spent too much time trying to protect her from her mother. Zelena points out that she's not needed protecting, and that he jumped down to the Underworld the first chance he got on some heroic quest, completely abandoning his daughter. He argues that he's setting an example of heroism, which he finds important, and Regina ends up telling Zelena how her enemies ended up becoming her family and that she hopes the same happens for her. When they finally find Belle and the baby, Zelena feeds her with the formula she got in Storybrooke, but then some of her magic returns and she runs off with her. Robin and the others find her in her farmhouse and she ends up handing the baby over because she realizes that she can't protect it from Hades. Robin takes it back to the apartment but still refuses to name her in case her name ends up etched on a headstone; he then takes her to the forest to keep her safe, saying it's the only place he's ever felt at home. ("Our Decay")

Robin 519
Robin's death is foreshadowed. ("Sisters")

David heads out to gather supplies for Robin and his baby in the forest when he's ambushed by his twin brother James, who reveals that Cruella was wrong: he doesn't hate Charming because their mother chose him, he hates him because he got to have all the glory. David tries making a case for himself, protesting that it wasn't his fault either way, but this doesn't stop James from tasering him into unconsciousness. He decides that, since David got his chance to play the prince, he's going to try "playing the shepherd"; he proceeds to lock his twin brother up in the sheriff's station and he heads to the apartment, pretending to be David. Emma seems to be falling for the act as the two of them head out into the woods to give Robin the supplies, but then suddenly James slaps an anti-magic cuff on his niece's wrist, with Cruella having told him not to face the savior without one of them. Cruella herself then shows up, giving Emma a punch in the face for being the one who killed her, and she and James take Robin and the savior hostage, bringing them to the docks and threatening to throw them into the River of Lost Souls. It's all part of a plan to use Baby Hood as leverage against Hades. However, David soon shows up and saves the day, pointing out that it was stupid of James to lock him up in his own jail because he knows how to escape. The two princes then face off, and a lengthy fight ends with James being thrown into the river by his brother. ("Sisters")

Robin 520
Robin's death is foreshadowed, again. ("Firebird")

When Zelena is kidnapped by Rumple and Pan, Hades asks for the heroes' help getting her back; they are successful in their mission, and in return he removes all their names from their respective tombstones. Since Zelena's kiss of true love has restored his heart and made it so he's now able to leave the Underworld, a portal to Storybrooke will soon be opening to take everyone home, but Hook still can't be resurrected because his spirit has been absent from his body for too long. As such, he and Emma journey to the very depths of the Underworld to find some ambrosia to restore him to life. Meanwhile, Robin meets the others at the library and is shocked when Regina encourages him to hand Baby Hood over to Zelena. The two sisters have now made amends, but the Wicked Witch still makes Robin uncomfortable, and when she, the baby and Hades leave to go through the portal early, Robin needs a minute to himself to deal with everything. This is when Rumple ambushes him and rips out his heart for Pan to use, only to end up giving it back while Pan was distracted and giving Pan a wineskin he had filled with water from the River of Lost Souls and glamoured as a heart that sends him to the River of Lost Souls. The heroes are soon trapped in the library by Cruella and the Blind Witch, who are acting under Hades' directive since he's in fact planning on going to Storybrooke without them. When Emma returns though, having had to leave Hook behind since Hades killed all the ambrosia, she and Regina combine their magic to escape and everyone finally returns home. ("Firebird")

Robin 521 01
Robin's death finally catches up to him. ("Last Rites")

Robin remains panicked over the fact that his daughter is with Hades and Zelena, the latter of which seeks he and Regina out, thrilled to see that they successfully made it to Storybrooke. They are appalled when they learn that Baby Hood has been left under Hades' care, with Zelena now placing her entire trust in the God of Death, and when they try telling her that he attempted to trick them all into remaining trapped in the Underworld, she rejects them and returns to her love. Needing to get Robin's daughter back, Regina guides him through the secret tunnels that run beneath the town, leading to her office where Hades and Zelena have based themselves with the child. On the way, Regina remains positive that Zelena will come to her senses and the path to redemption will stay clear, but Robin is sick of hearing his true love defend the Wicked Witch in spite of what she's doing. When they finally arrive beneath the office, however, he apologizes, pointing out that if he's learned anything from his relationship with the former Evil Queen then it's that people can change. He adds that people's futures aren't defined through their pasts, declaring that she, Regina, is his future. They share a kiss before going to rescue his daughter, and luckily Hades and Zelena vacate the office to battle Emma just as they arrive, leaving Baby Hood unguarded. Hades returns though, just as Robin lifts his daughter into his arms, and he prepares to use the all-powerful Olympian Crystal to wipe Regina from existence for trying to turn Zelena against him. One blast will mean that her soul is destroyed; no Underworld, no moving on, no nothing. However, as a bolt of deadly lightning is fired, Robin stands in its path, sacrificing himself for the sake of his love. He and Regina stare into one another's eyes as his body collapses to the ground, dead. ("Last Rites")

Season 5

With Hook, my first impulse was to rip his throat out because it's not fair that he survives and Robin doesn't.
Regina Mills
Robin 521 02
Robin's spirit bids farewell. ("Last Rites")

Despite Robin's body dying, his spirit lingers, standing over his corpse and continuing to stare into Regina's eyes as she cries. He appears peaceful for the few moments that he still exists, reaching out and nearly touching her... but then he's obliterated, with everything he is, was or ever could be disappearing too. He has been extinguished from existence itself, to his true love's utter dismay. Thankfully, his death inspires Zelena to finally do the right thing; Regina explains to her what happens and uses Robin sacrificing himself as an example of what real true love is, allowing Zelena to discern that what she and Hades share will never be enough for him, and she runs him through with the Olympian Crystal. With Hades defeated, the town is able to mourn Robin properly. A funeral is held in his honor with people placing arrows decorated with flowers onto his coffin, Roland and the Merry Men among them. Regina is the last to place her arrow, at which point she's approached by Zelena and the baby. She reveals that she could only think of one thing to name her daughter... Robin, in honor of her brave father. Regina likes the name, though it hardly begins to absolve her pain. ("Last Rites")

Robin 522
Regina discovers a lost letter from her love. ("Only You")

A wake is held in honor of Robin at Granny's Diner, and everyone goes out of their way to try and comfort Regina. When a crisis starts in Storybrooke, she is told to sit it out because she's in such a fragile state after her true love's death, which she finds incredibly insulting. She gets her own back though when she gets to "bench" Emma from the action taking place in New York when Henry decides he wants to destroy magic to prevent it from hurting anyone else, but Emma goes anyway because she's capable of tracking Henry, and she and Regina are led to Neal's apartment where Robin lived with "Marian" and Roland for some months. There, Regina discovers the book that she bought for Robin about all of our world's myths and legends about him; she says how he used to read it and laugh at everything they got wrong, and then she opens it to discover a letter from Robin addressed to her. It's about how proud of her he is and how he knows she'll remain the redeemed woman he fell in love with, adding to her inner conflict with the Evil Queen. Meanwhile, Roland heads home to Sherwood Forest along with the rest of the Merry Men, with Zelena saying that that's where his father would want him to grow up. ("Only You")
