History
Before the Curse
The Gingerbread House is the home of the Blind Witch in Fairytale Land. The Evil Queen sends Hansel and Gretel to the house to retrieve her poisoned apple.
The house was under a spell that kept adults away from it, however the spell was not applicable to children. This is because the Blind Witch was a cannibal, and she preferred to eat little boys (she normally uses the little girls as cooks or maid-servants). The whole house is made of cakes and candies, and contained even more treats inside. When a child failed to resist the temptation of the sweets, the witch was alerted to their presence.
The only ones who managed to enter and leave the house alive were Hansel and Gretel. They locked the Blind Witch into the oven, where the Evil Queen sent a fireball to burn her, likely to her death. ("True North")
