So your Granny's kind of intense...
Snow White

Widow Lucas, better known as Granny, is a supporting character on Once Upon a Time. The courageous and determined grandmother of Red Riding Hood, Granny was well aware of the power of the vicious, bloodthirsty wolves that tormented her village for generations... and also that her granddaughter was one of those wolves, a secret she kept from Red. Following the enactment of the Dark Curse, Granny became trapped in Storybrooke as the owner of a bed and breakfast and a diner.

Before the Curse

If this wolf is like that one, there is no defeating it! It's already won just by existing in our world. Don't kill it... just hide.

When Granny is a little girl, she's marked by her grandfather after she witnesses him tear apart her six brothers and her father. She becomes a werewolf, but it wears off in her old age. ("Red-Handed") Granny has a daughter, Anita, who runs away to embrace being a wolf, leaving behind Granny's granddaughter Red, who she raises herself. ("Child of the Moon") Her husband is also killed by a wolf. Granny shares something of a romance with Amos Slade, a local of the village, but it goes nowhere. She dedicates most of her life trying to protect people from the monthly Wolfstimes, especially Red whom she gives a magic cloak to stop her from turning on the full moon, and also expanding her baking business. Amos dies on one particularly rough Wolfstime, just a day after Granny is evicted and un-evicted for not being able to pay her taxes (Red sorts this problem out). When she successfully manages to cancel a ball which she feared would make people easy pickings for the wolf, Violet Roberts tries to host her own and is attacked. Red manages to fend it off with a special arrow but she and Granny both hear a howl later, signifying harder times ahead. ("Red's Untold Tale")

Granny reveals her mark of the moon. ("Red-Handed")

After being let go by the Huntsman, Snow White finds herself taking shelter in Widow Lucas' chicken shed. Red discovers her there and invites her to come back to Granny's with her. While stopping at the well, Snow uncovers the site of a massacre. Red reveals that it is wolfstime, a time of the month when the moon is full and the wolf hunts. At a town meeting, Granny shows the villagers the scars of her first encounter with a similar wolf 60 years before. She warns the crowd that the wolf is truly evil and that the only thing people can do is hide until wolfstime is over. While chatting about Peter, Red's love, Snow learns that Red feels trapped like a rat in a cage. Granny has always been overprotective and Red feels Granny disapproves of Peter. Seeking to prove herself, Red comes up with a plan to kill the wolf while it slumbers in the daylight. Red and Snow track the beast but are shocked to find that the wolf's prints take a human form and lead back towards Granny's house... and specifically Red's window. Red and Snow become convinced that the wolf is Peter and Red tells him what she has found. Peter begs her to tie him up in chains in order to protect everyone from his murderous hunger. Red does as he asks and promises to stay with him through the night until wolfstime is over. Back at Granny's, Snow is pretending to be asleep with Red's cloak around her in order to fool Granny. Granny discovers the truths and tells Snow that Peter is not the wolf, but Red is. Snow learns that Red's cloak was designed by a wizard and helps to stop Red from turning into the wolf. Red has no memory of being the wolf and Granny has kept it from her all these years. They race to rescue Peter, but are too late to save him. Granny shoots the wolf with a silver tipped arrow and Red transforms back into human form. As the realization of what she has done sinks in, Red is left devastated, and a hunting party descends on them. Granny orders Red and Snow to leave quickly. ("Red-Handed")

Dwarves 121
Granny assists an attack on George's castle. ("An Apple Red as Blood")

After Charming is imprisoned by the loathsome King George, Snow White and her troupe set out to rescue him, including Red, Granny, and the seven dwarfs. Red is sent to check out the perimeter and find the whereabouts and condition of the prince, and comes back - with the blood of someone on her chin - to report that even though the prince is still alive, she heard word that the Queen is also there. Snow realizes that Regina knew she'd come for the prince, and that it's a trap, but it doesn't matter at this point, she needs to go to him. She tells her friends that she'll understand if they want to give up, but they all reject this. They all get set, and Red questions why the Queen is doing this. Snow explains that she destroyed Regina's happiness, and now she wants to destroy hers. Snow finally makes it to the castle, with the help of her friends, but once she gets to the dungeons she learns that Charming isn't really there, but merely an enchanted mirror showing his reflection. Regina asks to meet with Snow at the stables, and she obliges. There, Regina tells her the truth about Daniel, the stable boy, and hands her a poisoned apple to bite on willingly. When she does, she will fall under a sleeping curse, and her prince will live. Snow does just this, and Granny and the others are horrified to discover her lifeless body, knowing that their friend sacrificed herself for the prince, and for all of them. ("An Apple Red as Blood")

Red 210
Granny and Red attend the Queen's planned execution. ("The Cricket Game")

After the good guys take down King George and take over his kingdom, the Evil Queen is finally captured, and her powers temporarily taken from her. The royal council meets to discuss what to do with her, and Jiminy Cricket says that he believes the Queen may never change, and thus they need to suspense justice. The attendants throw suggestions around, and when Granny suggests that they banish her to another realm, Jiminy replies that it would be unconscionable to condemn another realm to the same pain they've endured, and Red agrees with him, saying that the Queen is their problem and they must deal with her themselves. Charming decides that the Queen must be executed, and excuses the council. Later, Granny attends the Queen's execution with her granddaughter, but Snow White prevents it from actually happening, much to everyone's surprise. ("The Cricket Game")

Granny EL 620
The Queen terrorizes Granny, while singing. ("The Song in Your Heart")

Wanting to keep her unborn child, Emma, safe, Snow makes a wish upon a star that she and Charming will have what they need to help her, and to give her a chance at a happy ending. The wish ends up granted, and this means that the entirety of the kingdom ends up bursting into song and dance. Granny is busy knitting a baby blanket for little Emma when she lets out several operatic "la la"s about how the new princess is on her way and, even though she herself is old and grey, she believes that happy times are there to stay. The Evil Queen isn't happy when she sees this through one of her mirrors, unable to deal with such a happy kingdom, and goes on a rampage while singing about how love doesn't stand a chance against her curse. One of the places she visits is Granny's cottage, where she gives the old woman a fright and kicks over her furniture, eventually grabbing the baby blanket from her and tearing it in two. Granny is most dismayed, but later forgets all about the singing thanks to the Blue Fairy, who reveals that the songs were never intended for the whole kingdom to defeat the Queen but for Emma herself to defeat a more powerful evil later on. ("The Song in Your Heart")

The royal council meets, including Granny. ("Pilot")

Once the good guys are able to overtake King George, Prince Charming and Snow White occupy his castle and get married, a wedding that Red attends. The royal council meets, which includes Red and Granny, among many others, to come up with a plan. The Blue Fairy tells them of the enchanted tree that can be used to protect the savior from the curse if fashioned into a vessel, but warns them that only one person can go in it, although this turns out to be a lie hidden by her and Geppetto. On the very first day of the curse, Mayor Regina Mills, otherwise known as the Evil Queen, strolls through town to see Granny and Ruby arguing outside the diner, the latter moaning due to the fact that she has to work the early shift and doesn't want to. Regina smiles as she sees this, regarding this as Red's unhappy ending. The next day, she walks by and sees the same, Ruby and Granny arguing about shifts, and the next day, the same again. Eventually, Regina grows board of this repetition, and the many others. When Regina comes into the diner, she is served by Granny. On the way, she goes past Granny and wishes her a good morning, only for Granny to say that it would be if Ruby weren't still sleeping off last night's hangover. She complains that now she has to put out the open sign, and these were supposed to be her golden years. The introverted teacher proceeds to discover a mysterious flower which she brings to her unwitting true love's bedside. It contains pixie dust which wakes him up and returns his memories and, because it's capable of reuniting those who share true love, it returns Snow's memories as well. But, Mayor Mills believes the coma patient to be missing and gathers a search party to look for him out in the woods, where Mary Margaret pretends she saw him go. Granny joins the search party but they have no luck; but, Snow refuses to let them head back, at which Regina encourages Archie to go and check the mines. She then threatens to demolish the mines with Archie and Pongo inside, for the suspects that Snow White has resurfaced and wants her to admit it. However, the other townspeople, including Granny, accidentally intervene and, after Snow and Charming make the decision to stay cursed so that their daughter Emma can fulfill her destiny as the savior at the right time, the two are discovered by the search party in the woods with John Doe back in a coma. Granny EL 309
The wisdom of the elderly. ("Save Henry")

After Regina adopts a baby boy, she finds herself having an excruciatingly hard time calming her child down. During one of Henry's incessant crying sessions over at Granny's Diner, Granny, seeing the baby for the first time, asks the Mayor who the "bundle of joy" is. Interpreting this as sarcasm, the former Queen lashes out at Granny, asking her if she has a problem with his crying. The elderly lady denies this, and Regina continues trying to calm the baby down, to no avail. Granny, who won't leave them alone right away, suggests to the new mother that she tell the child a bedtime story, saying it soothes babies, gets them used to the mother's voice. Granny even states that it used to work with Ruby... whose "problems" started later. Regina tries this, but the only result she gets is spit-up on her shoulder. ("Save Henry")

Ruby is the counterpart of Red Riding Hood, and Granny is Red's grandmother. Emma calls out for their attention, and says she'd like a room. Both women are surprised, and Granny asks Emma what view she'd like. Granny then asks what her name is, and she tells her it's Emma Swan. A male voice behind her then repeats the name "Emma"... she turns around to find the man - the counterpart of Rumplestiltskin. He tells her Emma is a lovely name. She thanks him. Granny then hands him a wad of cash, telling him 'it's all here'. He takes it, thanking her, and then says "Enjoy your stay... Emma." He then leaves. Ruby smiles at her grandma, but then looks disgruntled once she's walked by. Later, inside Granny's bed and breakfast, Emma uses her key to open the door to her room, but before she can come inside she is stopped by a voice calling for her. It's Granny herself, who tells the blonde that what she is about to say is terribly awkward, but she needs to ask Emma to leave. Emma is confused, and Granny says that they have a no-felons rule, a city ordinance. Emma smiles and guesses that the Mayor's office called to remind Granny of this. Granny's reaction seems to be a dead giveaway of this, and the elderly woman tells her tenant that she can gather her things, but Granny needs to take her room key back. Over in the group that Emma is talking to, Mary Margaret asks if Emma really saved Regina. Henry runs up to them saying she did, announcing that the fireman told him. Ruby calls Emma a hero and then Mary Margaret says they should find out if there is a picture of the rescue. Granny suggests making campaign posters, something Archie thinks is a great idea. They all then run off to discuss their plans, leaving Henry and Emma. He tells Emma to "hop on" She asks if he wants her to get on the bike, so he mockingly tells her that is what "hop on" means. Emma suggests going somewhere that she can drive, so August suggests Emma stop controlling everything and take a leap of faith. Emma rolls her eyes. August states she owes him a drink so tells him to hop on. He tells her he knows a good watering hole. Emma seems reluctant, so Granny, who is watching from afar, jokingly tells Emma if she doesn't go she can take her place. August gets a helmet ready and Emma finally agrees to get on the bike. She sits down, wrapping her arms around August and the two drive away, with Granny smiling at them both. However the Blue Fairy is soon murdered by the shadow, meaning Peter Pan is still at large. Soon enough, all the people of Storybrooke are put under threat when Pan, who's grafted himself into Henry's body, steals the Dark Curse from Regina's vault, that's capable of wiping the minds of every Storybrooke resident all over again. Granny is frozen by Pan's spell, after sniffing Henry out. ("Going Home")

When the Mother Superior is revived, due to the defeat of the Shadow, a spell is cast with the Black Fairy's wand which returns Pan and Henry to their own bodies. Granny then helps find Henry, who has the curse scroll, by following his scent. However it isn't long before Pan, having apprehended Rumple, emerges and immobilizes the villagers, wanting to kill those most loved by his son. But before he can, Rumple emerges also, and stabs Pan with his Dark One dagger after being reunited with his shadow. This act brings about Rumple's death as well, and his loved ones mourn him whilst Regina explains that the price she has to pay for stopping the curse is Henry, who she can never see again. When Regina makes this sacrifice, she will be able to replace Pan's curse with one of her own, but this will return everyone to the Enchanted Forest and wipe Storybrooke from history, meaning Henry and Emma (who's able to leave because she's the savior) won't be able to remember it or its people at all. Meanwhile, Granny and everyone else is enveloped by the curse, which is made safe by Regina, and transported back home. ("Going Home")

They explain to the frightened couple they just interrupted what's going on. Those who have returned soon decide to begin heading to Queen Regina's old palace, for it has remained untouched by the original curse. ("New York City Serenade")

Granny 313
Granny is present. ("Witch Hunt")

Granny is present when another flying monkey attacks Regina and she rescues Robin Hood's son Roland from the creature, turning it into a stuffed animal with her magic. It is soon identified as being from the land of Oz, which many people are surprised to learn is real, and Regina deduces that this means they're up against the Wicked Witch of the West, who's in the Dark Palace. Regina and Robin manage to get inside and disarm the protection spell, meaning Granny and the others are able to get inside when Charming orders them to storm the castle. After a hostile confrontation with Regina, during which time she reveals herself as the Evil Queen's half-sister, the Wicked Witch vacates the palace on her flying broomstick. ("Witch Hunt")

As the discussion takes place, Granny is seen to be knitting a blanket for the baby, rolling her eyes at occasional comments as she gets on with her task. Ultimately, it's discovered that the only way to defeat Zelena is with the light magic which resides within Emma Swan, and so Snow, Charming and Regina re-enact the Dark Curse to take them back to her. However, Zelena drops a forgetting potion into the mixture at the last minute, meaning no one will remember the year spent back in the Enchanted Forest. ("A Curious Thing")

Granny makes an accusation. ("Witch Hunt")

After the new Dark Curse is cast and no one can remember the last year they spent back in the Enchanted Forest, Granny is amongst those who gathers at Storybrooke's town hall after Emma returns to the town from New York. She assures the people that she will get to the bottom of what happened to them, but Granny and the others are adamant that Regina is to blame again. The Mayor insists that this isn't true, but they advance on her and force her to cause an earthquake with her magic before she teleports away. However, this was a rouse planned by Emma to buy her more time to catch the real culprit. Granny is in her diner when Leroy rushes in to tell everyone that Regina has nearly concocted a memory potion to find out the truth, but the old woman retorts that she wouldn't drink anything given to her by the Evil Queen. This, however, was another rouse to get the true culprit to break into Regina's office. The perpetrator is nearly caught red-handed but manages to teleport away in time. When they learn that the people disappearing from town are being turned into flying monkeys, it is deduced that the real curse caster is the Wicked Witch of the West. ("Witch Hunt")

Granny 315
"No one gets between Leroy and his bacon." ("Quiet Minds")

Emma meets Regina, Mary Margaret, David and Hook at Granny's Diner before opening hours so that they may gain some privacy to discuss the Wicked Witch, and Granny tells them to hurry up for the diner's almost open and, when it does, no one gets between Leroy and his bacon. Emma, Hook, Mary Margaret and David soon leave to talk to Belle at Gold's shop, telling her that Rumplestiltskin is alive, whilst Regina heads off to find clues regarding the Wicked Witch at her farmhouse, where she meets and bonds with Robin Hood. Ultimately, Neal Cassidy returns and dies whilst it's revealed that Zelena, Mary Margaret's midwife, is the witch. ("Quiet Minds")

It is here that Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West, bursts in and announces herself to be Regina's half-sister, before challenging the Evil Queen to a fight that night on Main Street; Regina agrees to the terms, and that night, Granny watches as the two witches do battle. Regina is soon flung through the face of the clock tower by Zelena, who tries in vain to take her heart before flying away on her broom. Knowing that the witch already has David's courage, and now wants her heart, Regina deduces that she's gathering ingredients for something... something bad. ("It's Not Easy Being Green")

Granny 317
Granny hands Ariel a coffee. ("The Jolly Roger")

When David and Mary Margaret are strolling along the beach of Storybrooke with one another, discussing the fact that Henry finds them boring, they come across a large crowd gathered round someone who's washed ashore. They manage to get through all the people and discover that it's Ariel, who's been wrapped up in a coat and smiles awkwardly at her old friend, Snow White. As the Charmings begin to ask the mermaid where she's been and what she's been doing, Granny hands her a nice hot cup coffee, which Ariel happily accepts, and the old woman heads off to continue minding her diner whilst Ariel explains that she's been searching for Prince Eric, who's been missing ever since the new curse struck and brought them all back to town; she has searched every known realm looking for him but there is no trace. It's later revealed, however, that "Ariel" is Zelena in disguise and the real Ariel is living happily with her prince back in the Enchanted Forest, on an island that was outside the curse's proximity. ("The Jolly Roger")

Leroy 321
Granny and Leroy talk. ("Snow Drifts")

Granny hosts a coronation at Granny's Diner where the name of Snow and Charming's newborn son is to be announced. Leroy is seen talking with her, and he confirms that the Wicked Witch is indeed taken care of, commenting that it's a good thing because if that sleeping beauty - Aurora - was a monkey a day longer, she would have given birth to a monkey baby. Granny laughs, and Leroy comments further that he wouldn't want to be changing those diapers. Meanwhile, Emma is provoked into leaving when a comment is made by Hook, and everyone soon becomes distracted when it's realized that Zelena's time portal is open, having been activated by her pendant upon her death. Emma and Hook then accidentally fall through it, ending up in the Enchanted Forest of the past. Whilst there, they witness the Evil Queen torment a village which Granny is a part of, wanting to know the whereabouts of the bandit Snow White. ("Snow Drifts")

After having changed the past and put it right again, Emma and Hook manage to return to the present day and head back to Granny's Diner, where the coronation is still taking place. Granny stands witness as the royal baby's name is announced. Charming says that his son is to be named after a hero; someone who sacrificed himself for everyone in attendance, and more; someone who loved the town, and who they loved back. Snow then says it's an honor to introduce everyone to her son, Prince Neal. Granny and the others clap, knowing that Neal Cassidy gave his own life to expose the Wicked Witch of the West, and remains at the diner as the celebrations continue. ("There's No Place Like Home")

Granny 509
Granny's granddaughter plans on leaving. ("The Bear King")

As Neal's name is announced, Ruby appears sad and heads into the back room of the diner, unable to get into the swing of the festivities that surround her. Mary Margaret soon follows and, with Granny seen working in the kitchen in the background, she points out that they just defeated the Wicked Witch and survived a time travel adventure they didn't know they were a part of, but Ruby insists that she's fine. Snow doesn't believe her and finally gets her to admit that ever since they returned to Storybrooke she hasn't felt like she fit in; at first she figured it was because of the curse, but then it was broken and the feeling didn't go away. Mary Margaret figures that it's because Ruby's the only one of her kind in this land and Granny's granddaughter thinks this might be the case, wanting to be able to find more people like herself. With Granny still in the background, Ruby explains that she's been helping Anton work on his burnt fields, back when they thought they were going to have to escape Zelena, and they weren't able to accomplish much but they were manage to grow one bean, which Ruby has with her now. Realizing her best friend wants to go back to the Enchanted Forest, Snow locks her into an embrace, telling her that she thinks she should do whatever makes her happy while assuring her that that doesn't mean she isn't going to miss her. The two of them tear up as Red assures in turn that she'll miss her more, before leaving. ("The Bear King")

Regina cites Emma as being just like her mother in that she doesn't think about the consequences of her actions. The savior tries to apologize but Regina just tells her that she better hope to hell that she didn't bring anything else back. At that moment, across town, a magic urn which was also brought through the time portal opens... and a certain Ice Queen forms from the contents, proceeding to destroy her former prison and walk free amidst Storybrooke. Granny 402
The townspeople are kept in the dark. ("White Out")

Elsa, the Ice Queen, decides that no one is leaving town until she finds her sister, Anna, and so she erects an ice wall around the perimeter of Storybrooke and unintentionally cuts off all the electricity as she does so. With David and Emma off dealing with the ice threat, Granny, Grumpy and Happy head over to Mary Margaret's place in order to goad her into getting the power back on, pointing out that they helped her take back the kingdom and she cast the new curse, so Storybrooke is her kingdom now and she has to rule it. At the local power station, Snow struggles to accomplish anything and yells at her apparent royal subjects when they complain at her, causing them to storm off and leave. When baby Neal needs feeding, Mary Margaret gets the idea that the reason the power isn't turning back on is because fuel is needed, and so she follows the fuel pipe and manages to turn it on, thus restoring electricity to the town. ("White Out")

Granny 403
Yet another mob is formed. ("Rocky Road")

As Mayor, Mary Margaret decides to host her very first fireside chat in what used to be Regina's office. Granny is in attendance and becomes aggravated along with everyone else when the ice wall isn't the first item on the agenda, and even more so to learn that it surrounds the whole of Storybrooke. This causes a lot of ruckus and Leroy begins to fear the person who made it, believing Elsa to have malicious intentions; these beliefs are heightened when Marian collapses due to some sort of ice-based magic curse. Emma and David, who believe Elsa to be innocent, begin investigating who the real culprit is, whilst Grumpy riles up the townspeople, including Granny, into thinking that Elsa needs to be punished. However, it's soon proven to be the Snow Queen who's caused all this, having been posing as the local ice cream shop owner for quite some time. ("Rocky Road")

Granny 410
The spell is broken. ("Shattered Sight")

With the Snow Queen having successfully cast the spell of Shattered Sight, a curse designed to make it so that everyone becomes their worst selves, the entirety of Storybrooke begins tearing each other apart. Granny and the seven dwarfs can be seen brawling with one another in the center of town, with Granny having retrieved her crossbow. The Snow Queen soon walks by, happy with what she's accomplished, and just barely avoids an arrow fired by Happy, but still she smiles. Later, however, she sacrifices herself in order to break the spell, and this falls down on Storybrooke in the form of snow. When the spell is obliterated totally, Granny and Doc are seen hugging one another, while the rest of the townspeople can be seen rejoicing in the street, joyous for their sight no longer being shattered. ("Shattered Sight")

Granny 412
Granny babysits the little prince. ("Darkness on the Edge of Town")

After it's unveiled that Rumplestiltskin has been formulating his own evil plot to leave Storybrooke with his magical powers in tact with his dagger's control over him cleaved, Belle, his wife, uses the dagger to banish him from the town, and, six weeks later, all the residents appear to have moved on. Regina takes Henry to school, where Mary Margaret has resumed teaching; meanwhile, Emma - whose relationship with Hook has moved forward as he works alongside Belle to try and free the town's fairies from the Sorcerer's hat, which Rumple would have used to aid his empowered departure - has too resumed her career: that of sheriff. As she retrieves her sheriff's badge from the closet, she looks down and sees her brother, Prince Neal, being cradled by Granny, who's been hired to babysit as opposed to the currently occupied Belle. However, the town's newfound sense of peace is soon disrupted by a demon named Chernabog, as well as two villainesses by the names of Cruella and Ursula who help defeat said demon in exchange for safe passage into the now closed-off Storybrooke. ("Darkness on the Edge of Town")

Granny 413
Granny don't serve no bitches. ("Unforgiven")

Ursula and Cruella are sitting at the counter of Granny's Diner awaiting drinks; however, the service is less than stellar, and it appears they're going to be waiting a long while, receiving nothing but indignant stares from Granny. Will Scarlet then comes in, cheering Granny up with his presence, and he asks for his usual. Immediately, Granny grabs two to-go cups of coffee and hands them to the lad, meaning that he's gone in mere moments. This deeply annoys Ursula and Cruella, and the latter comments that if Granny still "wolfed-out" then she would have her turned into a coat and have her added to her collection. After deciding that they're never going to get served in this place, Ursula and Cruella decide to leave and, that night, they go on to resurrect Maleficent and the full force of the Queens of Darkness is free in Storybrooke. ("Unforgiven")

Granny 420
Hello? ("Mother")

Mr. Gold and Isaac - also known as the Author, capable of manipulating people's stories - are sitting in Granny's Diner and discussing their plans; the latter asks what the food in front of him is, and Rumple tells him that it's a bagel, which doesn't impress Isaac. Granny remains in the background, behind the counter, as all of this takes place, and Hook soon barges in so that he can announce to the Dark One that Emma didn't turn dark as he planned. This comes as dismay to the two villains because without the blood of a dark savior, no new stories can be written because the ink can't be enchanted. They decide to find a new way to rewriting everything, starting with Gold teleporting him back to his shop. ("Mother")

Granny 422
Dark Granny, to be honest. ("Operation Mongoose, Part 2")

After Isaac finds the ink he needs to write a new story for everyone, the residents of Storybrooke are transported inside his book, where the tables are entirely turned on heroes and villains alike. Granny is a part of the dark council, serving alongside the seven dwarfs under the Evil Queen Snow White's reign. They're tasked with killing the bandit Regina and the boy she's with, but when they return to the Dark Palace empty-handed, Snow is bitterly disappointed. Grumpy assures that they would have succeeded were it not for Blue and her trail her dark fairy dust paralyzing their axes, but Granny chimes in and suggests that the dwarf start taking responsibility for his actions once in a while as opposed to always blaming the fairies for his mistakes. He threatens her in return, and Snow demands that the argument ceases, going on to say that their failure amounts to her failure because she's failed to lead them properly. As Queen, it is her job to motivate her subjects. As such, she rips Doc's heart out and crushes it to dust, again telling her council to find Regina and the boy and kill them before leaving. However, Henry becomes the new Author and is able to write everyone back home to Storybrooke. A celebration is held in Granny's Diner to commemorate everybody's safe return. ("Operation Mongoose, Part 2")

Granny and her diner come to the Enchanted Forest. ("The Dark Swan")

With Emma having become the new Dark One and vanished to the Enchanted Forest, Regina tricks her sister Zelena into using the Apprentice's wand to summon a portal that will help them find her. The portal hits Storybrooke in the form of a cyclone, and everybody files into Granny's Diner to be taken away to where Emma is. Granny herself is ordering people about and loading fragile objects into boxes before the entirety of the diner is whisked away to the Enchanted Forest. Emma's about to succumb to the darkness and kill the warrior princess Merida, but her loved ones are able to stop her and bring her back to Granny's in the woods. She is surprised to see it there, along with Granny herself - who says that the backup generator's working but the fryers are shot - and then Leroy, but the surprise is cut short when King Arthur and his knights arrive to whisk everyone away to Camelot, having known of their arrival thanks to a prophecy made by the wizard Merlin. ("The Dark Swan")

Granny 502 01
Granny is excited. ("The Price")

Granny and the others are welcomed into Camelot by King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, who soon reveal that, due to their guests' arrival being prophesied, enough time was had to prepare a ball in their honor. Granny is happy to hear this, commenting that she loves any party that she doesn't have to cater, and Leroy agrees that he does too. That night, Granny dresses up and proceeds to have a good time at the ball. Everyone's night is ruined, however, when Sir Percival attacks Regina and dies because of it; the struggles leaves Robin Hood in a critical condition, and Emma is forced to use dark magic to heal him. ("The Price")

Granny 507
Granny is there, honestly. ("Nimue")

When it is exposed that Arthur is in fact a villain, the Storybrooke folk turn on him after successfully freeing Merlin from the tree and proceed to retire to Granny's Diner out in the woods. Merlin tells everyone that he and Emma are to quest for the Flame of Prometheus which will allow them to reunite both halves of Excalibur - that is, the Dark One's dagger and Arthur's broken sword - but, first, he needs for the heroes to collect the sword. Before Emma sets off on her quest with Merlin, Hook approaches her, and walks past Granny as he does so. She remains standing by her diner as the pirate proceeds to give Emma his lucky ring, in hopes that she will return safe. She points out that she doesn't need it because she's immortal now, but he points out in turn that the Dark One is immortal, but Emma Swan isn't; he wants her to bring her home to him. She is touched and wears the ring as a necklace throughout her quest. ("Nimue")

Granny 508
Granny is frozen by Merlin's magic. ("Birth")

Emma returns to Granny's Diner, concerned by the fact that the others should have been back hours ago, and when Granny attempts to lock the place up for protection, she, Henry and the key all freeze thanks to Merlin's magic, and the powerful Sorcerer reveals that Arthur has Emma's family hostage out in the woods and will kill them if she doesn't hand over the dagger and the Promethean spark. She goes outside to attempt lighting the latter, but the returning vision of Rumplestiltskin points out that maybe she can't because she's not ready to let go of the darkness. Henry tries motivating her by revealing that he and Hook were looking at available houses in Storybrooke to move her into when they got home, and she comes to realize that the vision was right: she doesn't want to let go of the darkness because she needs to use it one last time. She saves the others and is later able to light the flame. Granny and the others watch as she prepares to reunite Excalibur, but Hook collapses because the cut he earlier sustained in his neck which Emma healed reopens, due to Excalibur's properties which stop scars inflicted by it from being able to really heal. The pirate is dying and Emma uses the Promethean flame to un-tether Merlin from Excalibur and bind his powers to Hook instead, thereby turning herself fully dark and making Hook into a new Dark One. ("Birth")

Roland 510
Emma removes everyone's memories of the last six weeks. ("Broken Heart")

Hook rises from the Vault of the Dark One, having now gone through the full transformation from the man he once was into the darkened magician. With the voice of Rumplestiltskin now in his head, guiding him to the darkness, he soon reunites with Emma who tries her best to keep him near the light long enough for Merlin to cure them both. However, Hook loses all trust for her when she withholds Excalibur from him, thus driving him to full-on embracing his dark side, leading him to plot recasting the Dark Curse so he can get back to Rumple and finally have his revenge. He has Excalibur implanted back into stone, and with Nimue living on inside of him, he is able to crush Merlin's heart to enact the curse. However, Emma is able to wipe his memory of all that has happened, and before the curse is fully cast she is able to make everyone else who journeyed to Camelot appear unconscious in the diner, Granny included, and uses dreamcatchers to wipe all of their memories too. From there, they are all sent back to Storybrooke. ("Broken Heart")

After the Third Curse

Season 5

Granny and the others return. ("The Dark Swan")

After spending a total of six weeks away in Camelot, Granny and the others who were sent to said realm in Granny's Diner are abruptly returned to Storybrooke. Sleepy and Sneezy, the latter of which has been working as the town's sheriff, even having gone as far as to start sporting Emma's signature red leather jacket, overhear the diner's crash landing and so go to check it out. They're shocked to discover everyone has returned, but Granny and the others have zero memory of anything that has happened since entering into Camelot for the first time. The two dwarfs reveal they've all been gone a total of six weeks, and Emma's parents wonder where she is. She soon makes herself known, appearing to be responsible for their return, as well as everyone's loss of memories. She now looks how a Dark One would be expected to look, and Mary Margaret asks what happened to her. Emma, who proceeds to turn Sneezy to stone for wearing her jacket, wonders if it's not obvious, recalling that they all came to remove the darkness from her... and they failed. Now they have to pay. When asked why, Emma simply states that it's because she is the Dark One, before disappearing. ("The Dark Swan")

Granny 502 02
Granny serves drinks. ("The Price")

Granny serves drinks to everyone as they attend her diner; she walks past Hook, who's drowning his sorrows at the bar before being approached by Belle, so that she may serve Mary Margaret, David and Henry, the former of which is cradling her baby Prince Neal. Regina then enters along with Robin Hood and his small son Roland. As the night goes on, Henry re-meets his first crush from Camelot, Violet; Mary Margaret laments the current situation with Emma; Belle and Hook do shots together; and Regina is able to use her magic to turn Sneezy back from stone after the dwarfs arrive for the evening. He is able to finish his sneeze. ("The Price")

Granny 503
One of Granny's plates gets smashed. Rude. ("Siege Perilous")

Robin is sitting at the counter of Granny's Diner when Hook approaches, and the two of them soon start lamenting their equally complex love lives. It isn't long before Granny herself approaches, shoving a bag on the counter in front of Hook and telling him that his order's up. Hook is confused, since he didn't order anything, and thanks to the note on the bag he realizes that the food's from Emma, who requests that he meet her on his ship. Later, Belle comes into Granny's to collect her lunch order, bringing her magic rose with her. Granny insists that Belle stay for some real food, but Belle refuses, thinking that Gold doesn't have long left to live. However, Granny soon notices that the rose (which represents Gold's life force) is regrowing its petals, meaning that Belle's husband is waking up. Shocked, Belle drops and smashes one of Granny's plates before rushing out. However, Gold has been removed from the back room of their shop, now in Emma's lair. ("Siege Perilous")

Leroy 514
Gold spies on Belle, and also Leroy and Granny. ("Devil's Due")

While in the Underworld (on the mission to save Captain Hook), which looks just like a demented version of Storybrooke, Peter Pan leaves the pawn shop under his son Rumple's care, leaving him a note along with a few ingredients that should allow him to perform a spell to see who he wants to see. He uses an eyeball and a bubbling potion within a cauldron to birth a crystal ball from magic, then telling it to show him who he intends to check upon. Through the crystal ball, he sees Belle, having a meal at Granny's Diner. Leroy is with her, eating pancakes while Granny serves the two of them. Something about this shocks Rumple to his very core, so much so that he drops the crystal ball and it smashes on the floor. This is because he wanted it to show him his child, Neal, but it showed him Belle... meaning she must be pregnant. ("Devil's Due")

Dwarfs 521
The townspeople attend Robin's funeral. ("Last Rites")

The heroes are back from the Underworld but all isn't well: Hades is loose in Storybrooke and intent on ruling it alongside a redeemed but duped Zelena, all by the use of the Olympian Crystal, the only weapon capable of killing a God. It makes it so that the person whose beam it hits experiences no afterlife; they don't go to the Underworld or ascend Mount Olympus, but are simply wiped out of existence permanently with no hope of revival. As such, when it strikes Robin Hood, Regina is understandably devastated. While this does prompt Zelena to come to her senses and run Hades through with his own weapon, Robin remains forever gone, and a funeral is held for him the following day. Granny and the other townspeople are all in attendance, with everyone placing a flower-decorated arrow on the archer's coffin as a symbol of their shared remembrance. ("Last Rites")

Granny 522
Granny tends to Baby Hood as Zelena prepares to open a portal. ("Only You")

Following the funeral of Robin Hood, a wake is held in his honor over at Granny's Diner, and a multitude of townspeople - including Granny herself - are in attendance while everyone goes out of their way to try and comfort the grieving Regina. It isn't long before everyone's interrupted by a new crisis of course, with Mr. Gold tethering the town's magic to the Olympian Crystal so that he can wake Belle from her sleeping curse, though the heroes fear what else he might do with such power. The wake is also interrupted by the arrival of Hook, who's been resurrected as a reward from Zeus for helping defeat Hades. This comes as quite a blow for Regina, who has to watch Emma reunited with her love while she's just lost hers. Still though, they get on with solving the next crisis, and also with getting all the Camelot folk home successfully. Granny takes care of Baby Hood, now named Robin, as everyone goes home through a portal, but then Zelena, Snow, David and Hook are all sucked in to a mystery realm. ("Only You") Granny texts Emma to tell her about her family going through a portal, and luckily they're successfully retrieved. ("An Untold Story")

Season 6

Granny 601
Granny welcomes the new arrivals. ("The Savior")

Storybrooke is once again disturbed, this time by a crashed dirigible from the Land of Untold Stories, brought over by the town's new owner Mr. Hyde, which contains an array of passengers from varying realms whose stories now get a chance to play out... and cause chaos, according to Dr. Jekyll. Hyde is soon arrested, but the new arrivals remain scattered out there, until eventually they are discovered by Snow and Charming and told to go to Granny's Diner for food and shelter. Granny herself is there, seen serving people while Emma and Hook work out whatever issues they're having that day at the bar, and later, once the people from the Land of Untold Stories actually arrive at the diner, Granny is one of the people to be handing out supplies in order to welcome them properly to the town. ("The Savior")

Granny 602
Granny slays with her one-liner. ("A Bitter Draught")

The people from the Land of Untold Stories remain in Granny's Diner, where Regina formally welcomes them to Storybrooke with a rousing speech which, to her joy, succeeds in relaxing and reassuring them. Belle soon arrives looking for a room, but Emma says she wouldn't wish one of Granny's mattresses on her worst enemy, and so Hook sets her up with accommodation. Soon, one of the new arrivals - the Count of Monte Cristo - leaves behind a summons for Snow and David, to their deep confusion. Looking at his insignia, they try to determine who he is and, upon discovering that Monte Cristo is where he is a count, Granny overhears merely the location from nearby and comments to the heroes that Monte Cristo isn't on the menu at her diner because she's never been a fan of the eggy bread. However, they assure her that that's not what they are talking about, and so she butts out and goes about her business. It is soon learned that the Count wants the Charmings dead from when Regina hired him to kill them many years ago, and things spiral from there. ("A Bitter Draught")

Granny 608
Emma tries and fails to get through to Granny. ("I'll Be Your Mirror")

Regina gains the idea to trap the Evil Queen in the world behind the mirror, but, the Queen is savvy enough to be able to predict her other half's every move; as such, during the ambush that was intended for her, she flips the situation on its head and makes it so that Emma and Regina are the ones who become trapped instead. Emma wakes up stranded with her co-mother, without magic, in a world filled with mirrors. One such mirror leads to Granny's Diner, where Granny herself is currently checking herself out, making sure she looks presentable. Emma tries her best to communicate with her, banging on the mirror and calling out to the elderly diner owner, but Regina tells her that it's no use because all Granny sees is a mirror - and that tragedy of a dress. Indeed, they're stuck in a world of one-way mirrors, with no way to make contact with the world outside; however, Henry eventually finds a way to work around the Evil Queen's latest plot and free his mothers. ("I'll Be Your Mirror")

Rumple makes clear that he plans on using magic to accelerate Belle's pregnancy, which puts the poor beauty under a great deal of stress. However, when he actually confronts her with the necessary magic in tow, he seems unable to go through with it due to her declaration that, if he does, then he will lose her forever. She proceeds to go to Granny's Diner with Emma and Hook, where Granny serves her up a nice cup of chamomile tea in order to calm her nerves. Belle ends up dropping the teacup in shock though, for its contents causes her pregnancy to begin speeding up. She begins to believe Rumple went back on his earlier decision and decided to dose her tea with the ageing potion, but it was in fact the Evil Queen who sneaked in and messed with Granny's recipe, all so that Belle would give birth and blame the Dark One for it. ("Changelings")

Granny 610
Granny leads Rumbelle to Blue. ("Wish You Were Here")

Mother Superior is discovered in the forest after a brutal attack by an unknown assailant, and Granny is the one to report this news to Belle and Mr. Gold as she leads them through the convent to see her as she recovers in bed. It is here that Blue reveals that it was the Black Fairy who attacked her, and she fought as long and as hard as she could but it was no use - she was successful in kidnapping Rumple and Belle's baby son, Gideon, and taking him to one of her twisted dark dimensions. Time works differently there, meaning Gideon has had time to grow up, and he soon arrives in Storybrooke - accidentally summoned by a wish from David gone awry - as, not only a full-grown man, but a villain. Apparently the hooded figure fated to kill Emma. ("Wish You Were Here")

The Charmings' curse is shared with the townspeople. ("Awake")

Snow and David remain affected by their shared sleeping curse, only now it's worse, because one of Regina's risky attempts to break it - and thus undo yet another mess left behind by the now redeemed and off-world Evil Queen - has resulted in the both of them slipping into a permanent slumber, as opposed to having merely one be asleep at the time. Later, she has another idea, but it too is risky. She gathers the townspeople - including Archie - at her mayoral office and presents a goblet filled with the curse that the Queen used on the Charmings. She explains how it was meant only for one heart, but, should they all share a part of it, she believes it might dilute its power and allow for the prince and princess to awake for good. Leroy draws attention to the word "might", but it's the only shot they've got, and Snow and David's loved ones soon start sipping from the goblet. Eventually, Leroy decides that he could do with a nap and sips from it too, and the rest of the townspeople, including Granny, soon follow suit in sipping from the goblet. Soon, the Charmings awaken, but find everyone else asleep. As they panic, though, the now diluted curse wears off, and soon everyone is up and reunited. ("Awake")

Granny's lunch rush is rudely disturbed. ("The Black Fairy")

It is learned from the Blue Fairy, right before she's kidnapped by the Black Fairy, that the rest of the ancient wand needed to banish the latter for good resides in the center of Storybrooke. However, it is nowhere to be found in the clock tower, which is the town's geographical center, and it is soon figured out by Regina and Snow that when Blue - a fairy, and thus she breathes love and hope - says the "center", and probably means the "heart", and the heart of Storybrooke is most certainly Granny's Diner. Granny herself seems rather upset as the heroes show up to tear her diner apart; they assure her that it's important, and she argues that so is her lunch rush. Eventually, the box containing the rest of the wand is discovered under the jukebox, and now the heroes have both halves. The Black Fairy then shows up to put a stop to this, wanting to do battle with Regina, but all comes to a screeching halt - literally - when Zelena hits the fairy with her new car, and she poofs off in a huff. ("The Black Fairy")

Granny babysits Neal during Emma's wedding. ("The Song in Your Heart")

It looks as though Emma and Hook's wedding day might not go as planned when the Black Fairy resurfaces; however, Emma is able to temporarily defeat her thanks to the song of her parents and their kingdom which was placed inside her heart years earlier, and her grand marriage to the pirate proceeds. Granny and the rest of the townspeople are in attendance, joyously watching the ceremony as the two give their vows, and Granny herself even sitting with little Prince Neal on her lap so that Snow can aid Charming in giving their daughter away, and then the first dance begins. As it does, more singing overcomes the guests as they begin to harmonize about the chance at a "happy beginning" which now is theirs. However, the song ends in devastation when the clock tower strikes a certain time, and everyone knows what that means. Grumpy is the one to yell it aloud for all to hear - the Black Fairy's curse is here. Black smoke then smashes through the clock's face and begins to envelop the townspeople.
